POSING TIPS PART 2!!

2024/1/25 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! Building on some super simple posing tips, I wanted to dive deeper into how we can all feel more confident in front of the camera. It’s all about finding what feels good and looks natural, right? Let's unlock even more ways to get those perfect shots without feeling awkward. Remember those easy wins like 'leaning on something'? It instantly makes you look relaxed! Whether it's a wall, a railing, or even just crossing your arms, it breaks up your silhouette and gives hands something to do. And 'sitting down, literally anywhere'? That’s my secret weapon for casual, candid vibes. Just find a comfy spot – grass, a bench, or a curb – and let your body relax, experimenting with angles. Don't forget genuine expressions! The 'fake laugh, real laugh, SMILE' tip is golden; sometimes faking it sparks a real one, making for authentic photos. A common question I get is about flattering arm poses. Instead of pressing your arms flat against your body, which can make them look wider, try creating a little space. A classic trick is to gently place a hand on your hip or let your arm bend slightly away from your side. You can also hold a small prop, like a bag or a coffee cup, or even adjust your shirt as in the 'fix ur shirt!! but not really' tip, which naturally brings your arms into a more relaxed position away from your torso. Crossing your arms loosely can also be very flattering and confident. If you're looking to create an illusion of height, angles are your best friend! Try posing with one leg slightly bent or crossed, or placing one foot forward. Shooting from a slightly lower angle can also help elongate your frame. Using props like a tall building or a doorway to lean against can also add vertical lines that make you appear taller. Don't be afraid to take a few steps back from the camera to capture more of your surroundings, which can also help with perspective. For more dynamic shots or if you want a 'model photo pose' feel without being a professional, think about movement. Walking away from the camera, looking over your shoulder, or even just a subtle hair flip can add so much life. If you're into 'track media day poses,' imagine you're about to start a sprint or just finished one – a hand on your knee, looking slightly off-camera, or tying your shoelace. These natural, in-motion poses capture energy and make for really captivating pictures. Another simple confidence booster: hands in pockets or a relaxed hand on your face (not covering it!). Ultimately, the best pose is the one where you feel comfortable and genuinely yourself. For selfies, it’s all about finding your best angles – try holding the phone slightly above and looking up. Soft light is your best friend! Practice in front of a mirror, and don't be afraid to experiment. Every photo is a chance to show your unique personality. Happy snapping!

Tips: use a ring light/ natural light. turn off overhead lights if in room! Make sure your light source isn’t casting a shadow on your face (or simply don’t show your face like me sometimes!) Use front camera (duh) and portrait mode! Try to create contrast from you and the background. Make a
