Dark Cottagecore Bedroom Inspo 💚

Wanted to share one of my favorite places in the house—my son’s room (shared with his permission). He loves DnD, books, quiet, fantasy, RPGs, and whimsy. (Same, TBH) We thrifted a lot of it. I DIYed some things. It was fun to bring it all together. I’m slowly turning the rest of the house into a magical, whimsical, witchy, forest cottage too. 🥰💚🍄

... Read moreCottagecore has taken the design world by storm, emphasizing rustic charm and a connection to nature. Dark cottagecore, in particular, incorporates deeper colors and a sense of mystery. In creating a cozy bedroom inspired by this aesthetic, consider incorporating natural elements such as wood, plants, and textiles in rich, warm tones. Start by layering textured fabrics like velvet or wool for an inviting feel, and don't hesitate to mix new pieces with thrifted finds for a truly unique look. Incorporating elements like fairy lights, bookshelves filled with whimsical tales, and artwork that reflects fantasy themes can transform a room into a magical retreat. Additionally, consider DIY projects like creating your own wall art, repurposing older furniture with dark paint, or designing your own cozy nook that invites quiet reflection or imaginative play. Inspiration can be drawn from the natural world, fantasy realms, and vintage styles, allowing for a bedroom that's not only functional but also a personal sanctuary. This approach creates a space where you can escape into a world of whimsy while enjoying the comforts of home.
