Where to shop the look

@Red ❤️ really liked the look I chose for Aquarius and wanted to buy some pieces so I found similar ones if anyone else wanted to know where to find the pieces as well! The original creator of this outfit is Violet Grace (oatmilk24 on TikTok). The video this outfit is from is sponsored by Romwe, however I don’t recommend anyone shop from Romwe because it is owned by the same company as SHEIN. This means the products will have similar quality and ethical concerns as SHEIN. I found some similar items that are either vintage or handmade and some that are new but always make sure to buy ethically first! Especially with looks strongly inspired by vintage designs.

... Read moreAfter my friend @Red ❤️ asked where I found my whimsical pieces, it really got me thinking about how many of us are searching for unique looks that truly reflect our personal style, without falling into the fast fashion trap. It's so tempting to click on those super affordable ads, but I've learned that investing a little more thought (and sometimes, a little more money) into ethical, vintage, or handmade finds makes all the difference! When you're aiming for a truly whimsical or unique aesthetic, like that gorgeous "whimsigoth" vibe, fast fashion often misses the mark. You might see an amazing "dark purple vintage 90s maxi dress" online and then receive something completely different. This is where the 'expectation vs. reality' of platforms like Temu or Shein often disappoints. I've heard so many stories, and frankly, my own experience with similar brands has shown that the quality just isn't there for pieces meant to be cherished. Instead of relying on mass-produced items that might fall apart after a few washes, I've found so much joy in hunting for pieces that have a story. So, how do we build that dreamy, unique whimsical outfit without compromising our values or ending up with poor quality? My first tip is to embrace the hunt! For unique pieces like a "black lace bell-sleeve top" or a "goth tie bell sleeve top," I usually start by exploring online vintage marketplaces or even local thrift stores. You'd be surprised what hidden gems you can uncover. For example, a "Victoria's Secret maxi slip dress" from the 90s can be layered beautifully to create an ethereal look. Don't be afraid to search for specific terms – sometimes just typing "vintage purple maxi dress" can lead you to incredible finds. Another fantastic avenue is supporting "handmade artisanal" creators. This addresses the desire for "Urban Outfitters product diversity" but with a much more personal touch and often better quality. Etsy, for instance, is a treasure trove for unique accessories. I’ve found stunning pieces like a "silver sun chain belt" or a "handmade black cord necklace with a silver spiral swirl pendant" from independent artists. These items not only add a distinctive flair to your "whimsical outfit" but also support small businesses and ensure higher quality craftsmanship. It's a win-win! When it comes to avoiding the "Temu dress expectation vs reality" disappointment, always remember to scrutinize product photos and reviews. If a deal seems too good to be true, it often is. Look for real customer photos and honest feedback on material quality. Sometimes, the true cost of a cheap item is hidden in its short lifespan and unethical production. Instead, consider how a classic piece, like a well-made "long purple skirt" or a detailed "black lace trumpet sleeve blouse," can be styled in multiple ways and last for years. Building a truly whimsical wardrobe is about curating pieces that you love and that will stand the test of time, not just fleeting trends. It’s an adventure, and the reward is a wardrobe that truly feels like you!
