Currently waiting on the walking update
When caring for a baby, I’ve found it helpful to think of developmental phases as 'updates' — like software upgrades in an iPhone. For example, during sleep regressions, babies may become more restless or wake frequently at night. Although challenging, these regressions often signal that their brain is processing new skills or information. After these periods, I noticed my baby would suddenly master new abilities, such as improved crawling or standing. Personally, the 'walking update' was a memorable milestone. Before it happened, there were days when it felt like progress was slow or stalled. But the key was patience and recognizing that these phases are temporary. Once the update completed, my baby confidently took first steps and explored more actively. Understanding that sleep disruptions and behavioral changes are part of these natural 'updates' helped me stay calm and supportive. It’s important for parents to remember that these regressions mean your baby’s brain is developing rapidly — a reassuring perspective during those tiring nights. In summary, viewing developmental leaps as updates offers a positive mindset toward the challenges and triumphs of early childhood growth.
