TikTok Refugee
I’m truly devastated at the potential loss of TikTok. When the pandemic hit, I was in a low place mentally and I used TikTok to help me get my life back on track. It helped me clean my room and get organized, it showed me how to connect with others in a time where we had to be isolated for the health of everyone. whenever I was sad or happy I knew I could go to TikTok to find comfort and understanding and like-minded people from all walks at any possible time through every point in their life. I never synced my contacts, so I always felt very free posting and creating my content. I never had a lot of followers on TikTok, but I didn’t care about who followed me. I felt free being there. I love seeing people‘s humanity the way that they love other people, the way they defend other people, I love watching people‘s passions and hobbies, and to know that a bunch of old people who don’t even know how to use Google probably are in control of taking away TikTok due to some pseudo national security threat it has me enraged. It’s a chronically online grief that will ache endlessly until they bring something else back. Are they getting rid of this app too? Where are we supposed to gooooo
