🌱 Sesame Veggie Jasmine Rice Bowl w/ Vegetable Dumplings
A savory jasmine rice bowl packed with sautéed vegetables, layered umami, and finished with sesame goodness. Comfort food, but clean and plant-forward.
🥕 Ingredients
Rice Bowl
• 1 cup jasmine rice (cooked)
• Yellow squash, sliced
• Zucchini, sliced
• Green cabbage, shredded
• Broccoli florets
• Cauliflower florets
• Carrots, sliced
• Green beans
• ½ small brown onion, sliced
• 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
• 1–2 tbsp sesame oil
• 1–2 tbsp soy sauce (to taste)
• 1 tsp oyster sauce (optional, for depth)
• ⅓–½ cup General Tso’s sauce
• Fresh sprouts (for topping)
• Green onions, chopped
• Sesame seeds
On the Side
• 3 vegetable dumplings (steamed or pan-fried)
🍳 Instructions
1. Cook jasmine rice and set aside.
2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat.
3. Add sliced brown onion and sauté until softened.
4. Stir in minced garlic and cook until fragrant (about 30 seconds).
5. Add squash, zucchini, carrots, green beans, broccoli, and cauliflower. Sauté until tender-crisp.
6. Add shredded cabbage and cook just until wilted.
7. Season with soy sauce and a small splash of oyster sauce.
8. Pour in General Tso’s sauce and toss until vegetables are evenly coated and glossy.
9. Spoon vegetables over jasmine rice.
10. Finish with sprouts, green onions, and sesame seeds.
11. Serve with three vegetable dumplings on the side.
✨ Notes
• Oyster sauce adds depth — keep it light so it doesn’t overpower
• Add chili crisp or red pepper flakes if you like heat
• Easily meal-prep friendly (keeps well 3–4 days)
