3 months of Breastfeeding

✨ self care - taking care of you IS taking care of baby. If you’re not eating nutritious foods and staying hydrated (!!!), your milk production will be noticeably affected. Oxytocin also directly impacts milk production, so take those extra few minutes to put on a face mask or make sure to play your favorite music.

✨ good bras - your bra size will probably change when you get pregnant, towards the end of pregnancy, immediately after birth, while your milk supply is regulating, and after it’s all settled. Maybe even a few more times. But making sure you always have one that fits will ~help~ prevent clogs and nipple chafing and also just help you feel a teeny bit more put together during the postpartum struggles.

✨ community support - even if it’s just an online group, having a community of other moms who get it is so empowering and can help relieve a lot of stress. Yes, Google has a few answers, but nothing compares to the lived experiences of real people. Plus, you might even make some new friends!

✨ outside opinions - you ever heard the saying “opinions are like a$$holes - everyone has one and they all stink”? This could not be more true postpartum and especially in regard to breastfeeding. Even the most well-intentioned advice often comes from a very individual and unique reality that probably isn’t aligned with yours. If it wasn’t asked for, it doesn’t matter, so do your best to just tune them out 🫶
