CLEAR VS. TINTED RARE BEAUTY 🤎

I love the clear Rare Beauty gel so when I saw they came out with a tinted version I of course had to pick it up!! It has the same formula - good amount of hold but not so stiff/hard to work with. I’ll be honest I don’t see much of a difference, I did get taupe so maybe it’s just because that isn’t that dark of a color? Either way I love the formula and will use it up but I might have to try a darker color. Have y’all tried these? ✨

... Read moreOkay, so you're wondering which brow gel to pick: clear or tinted? I totally get it, it's a common dilemma! After trying both the clear and the new tinted Rare Beauty brow gels, I have even more thoughts to share beyond my initial comparison. First off, let's talk about why we even use brow gel. For me, it's all about taming those unruly hairs and locking my brow shape in place all day. Whether I'm going for a natural, brushed-up look or something more defined, a good brow gel is a non-negotiable step in my routine. Why choose clear brow gel? The clear brow gel is a true classic for a reason. It's incredibly versatile and works for everyone, regardless of hair color. If your brows are already quite full and you just need some hold to keep them in place, clear is your best friend. I love how it gives a polished, natural look without adding any color. It's also perfect for setting any brow pencil or powder you might use beforehand, ensuring everything stays put without smudging. For those 'no-makeup' makeup days when I just want my brows to look neat and tidy, a quick swipe of clear gel does the trick. It doesn't leave any residue or stiffness, which is a huge plus for me. The Rare Beauty clear brow gel, for instance, offers that fantastic hold without feeling crunchy, which I adore. When should you reach for tinted brow gel? Now, the tinted brow gel, especially shades like the 'rich taupe' I tried, brings a whole new dimension. If you have sparse areas in your brows that you want to subtly fill in without using a pencil, or if you simply want to add a bit more depth and definition, tinted gel is fantastic. It can make your brows look fuller and more defined with just one product, cutting down on steps in your routine. For those with lighter brow hairs, a tinted gel can give you that extra 'oomph' to make your brows stand out more. It's also a great option if you're trying to match your eyebrow color more closely to your hair color, or if you simply want a bolder brow look. My experience with the 'rich taupe' tinted Rare Beauty brow gel was interesting. As I mentioned before, I didn't see a huge difference on my brows, which are naturally a medium brown. This might be because the 'rich taupe' shade is quite subtle, designed to enhance rather than drastically change. However, I can definitely see it being a game-changer for someone with lighter brows or for those who want just a hint of color to make their brows pop without looking too "done." The formula, just like the clear, was excellent – great hold, no stiffness. Making the choice: Clear vs. Tinted So, how do you decide? Think about your natural brows and your desired look. Go clear if: Your brows are already full, you prefer a very natural look, you layer it over other brow products, or you want universal applicability. Go tinted if: You have sparse areas you want to fill, you want to add subtle color and definition, you want a quicker all-in-one brow routine, or you have lighter brows that need a bit more presence. Don't forget to consider the shade if you go tinted! Just like I learned with the 'rich taupe,' the right shade can make all the difference. If you're unsure, try swatching it on your skin or even a few brow hairs to see how it looks. My personal tip? If you're stuck between two shades, usually going a tiny bit lighter than your natural brow hair can look more natural than going too dark. Ultimately, both clear and tinted brow gels have their place in a makeup bag. It often comes down to personal preference and what your brows need on any given day. I find myself reaching for the clear for my everyday, natural looks, and the tinted for when I want a bit more definition with minimal effort. It's all about experimenting and finding what makes your brows look and feel their best!
