These are the tools Ive been using the past couple of years for vtubing, but do intend to get a live2d model some day in the future once I have the money or skill for it. This is definitely a fun way to start streaming if you refuse to show your face but still want a physical presence.

Now, for those looking to truly personalize their avatar without spending money, BOOTH is your secret weapon. While the article mentions getting extra items, many creators generously offer free assets. When browsing BOOTH, make sure to use the price filter and set it to 0 JPY to find a treasure trove of free clothes, hairstyles, eye textures, and accessories. It's fantastic for adding unique touches to your VRoid model and really making it your own. I've found so many cool items that way, helping my avatar stand out without any cost. Once your avatar is ready, it's time to bring them to life! This is where VSeeFace comes in. It's another free, powerful tool for avatar puppeteering. You simply load your .vrm model into VSeeFace, and with a webcam, it tracks your head and eye movements, making your avatar mimic your expressions. My personal trick for a completely free setup was using Iriun Webcam. This app turns your smartphone into a high-quality webcam, so you don't need to buy additional hardware. It's incredibly convenient and works seamlessly with VSeeFace. Integrating VSeeFace with your streaming software, like OBS Studio, is crucial for going live. The VSeeFace OBS integration is quite straightforward. You'll add VSeeFace as a 'Game Capture' or 'Window Capture' source in OBS. To make your avatar appear without its background, simply enable 'Chroma Key' in OBS's filters for that source, and select the green screen color that VSeeFace provides. This instantly makes your avatar transparent, allowing you to place them over your gameplay or any other scene. Setting up OBS for streaming, including audio sources and scene transitions, is the next step to getting your virtual presence out there. It might seem like a lot at first, but with these free tools and a bit of practice, you'll be Vtubing in no time!
