THINGS TO DO TO STAY “LOW MAINTENANCE”
Here are some “high maintenance” tasks I do to maintain being “low maintenance” 💌
𝟏. 𝐍𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒 - Having your nails done is a must. I always have my nails done, whether that just a simple manicure but I LOVE gel-x. I recently started doing my own gel-x nails to save some money and it’s so worth it! Also, I give myself a gel manicure every 4 weeks.
(I can make a post of how I do my nails with all products)
𝟐. 𝐁𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐒 - Brows are everything. I am a licensed esthetician and I specialize in all things brows. LET ME TELL YOU… Brows change your whole appearance from just a small brow wax to a whole lamination & tint. I give myself a brow lamination every 6-8 weeks and tint in between :)
𝟑. 𝐒𝐄𝐋𝐅 𝐓𝐀𝐍 - Where do I begin? I look and feel my absolute best when I have a tan; 100% recommend either a spray tan or doing self tan at home if you are feeling even the slightest bit down about yourself. I have been using Jergens Dark Tanning Mousse for years now and it honestly works just fine for the price. I do self tan every 3-4 weeks. Absolutely no tanning beds so bad for you!
𝟒. 𝐖𝐀𝐗𝐈𝐍𝐆 - I am a licensed waxer, so I always have wax on hand. Waxing is life changing. I wax my armpits every 2 weeks and I get a brazilian wax every 6 weeks. Other areas I shave, but I’ve gotten by shaving routine down to a tea ☕️
𝟓. 𝐇𝐀𝐈𝐑 - I recently started highlighting my hair about a year ago doing full highlights. This is the blondest I’ve been so far and I go every 4-5 months for a full highlight. I wash my hair 2 times a week and a hair mask once a week including oiling on each wash day. If you spend money on getting your hair done make sure to invest in high quality haircare it actually does play a key role.
𝟔. 𝐄𝐗𝐄𝐑𝐂𝐈𝐒𝐄 - This doesn’t really fully associate with this but bringing in some type of way to keep your body active each day will pay off in the end. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week incorporating mainly weighting. It definitely can be difficult to start off motivated but once you start pushing yourself to even just walk on the treadmill each day it will get much easier. The saying is “in two weeks you’ll feel it, in four weeks you’ll see it, in eight weeks you’ll hear it.”
There’s so much more I can list out but that’s all for now!
Comment if you want more info on certain things listed or if I should make another post similar/going in depth with how i do these things :)

It's a common misconception that 'low maintenance' means doing nothing. In reality, it often means being strategic with your self-care so you look effortlessly put-together without daily fuss. As someone who loves feeling polished but hates spending hours every morning, I've really honed my routine. It's about finding those 'high maintenance' steps that deliver long-lasting, 'low maintenance' results, truly making life easier in the long run! Taking the plunge into DIY beauty has been a game-changer for my 'low maintenance' lifestyle. For nails, learning to do my own gel-x has not only saved me a ton of money but also means I can touch up or change my look whenever inspiration strikes, all from the comfort of home! It’s an initial investment in a good LED lamp and quality polishes, but the freedom and long-lasting results are so worth it. Similarly, understanding my brows – thanks to being an esthetician – means I can maintain their shape and tint them at home. Brows truly frame your face, and having them consistently groomed makes a huge difference in feeling 'put together' with minimal daily effort. And let's not forget self-tanning! Finding a good mousse and perfecting the application technique means a healthy glow without the sun damage, making you feel instantly more radiant. My 'low maintenance hair routine' has evolved over time, especially with having blonde highlights. The key is quality products and smart styling. For my fellow blondes, investing in purple shampoo and a nourishing hair mask once a week keeps brassiness at bay and my hair healthy. I also swear by a good leave-in conditioner and a heat protectant. On wash days (I aim for twice a week!), I focus on scalp health, and between washes, dry shampoo is my best friend! Learning simple updos or braids that look chic but take minutes also helps extend time between washes, contributing to that effortless, 'low maintenance' look without sacrificing style. It's all about making your hair work for you, not the other way around. While the article touches on specific beauty tasks, a holistic approach to 'beauty, cosmetic & personal care' is what truly underpins a 'low maintenance' life. For me, this means a consistent skincare regimen. A simple routine of cleansing, moisturizing, and daily SPF makes a world of difference in skin health and glow, reducing the need for heavy makeup. And of course, exercise. As mentioned, hitting the gym isn't just for physical health; it's a huge mental boost. Feeling strong and energized contributes immensely to feeling confident and ready to tackle the day with minimal fuss. These are the 'things to do to be low maintenance' that aren't just about appearance, but about overall well-being.
