WHO ARE YOU WAITING ON! DON’T WAIT FOR PERMISSION TO BECOME YOUR BEST!

Don’t Wait Until the Last Day

I recently heard a powerful message from Viola Davis that made me think deeply about becoming.

Imagine reaching the final day of your life and realizing that the person you always wanted to become… never came to fruition.

Not because you weren’t capable.

But because you kept waiting.

Waiting for permission.

Waiting for the perfect opportunity.

Waiting until you had enough money.

Waiting until the fear disappeared.

Waiting for someone else to open the door.

Just waiting for no reason.

Buying time.

But what if no one is behind the curtain pulling the strings?

What if we have far more influence over the direction of our lives than we’ve allowed ourselves to believe?

At some point, we have to take control.

Make the decision.

Use the gift.

Write the book.

Start the business.

Have the conversation.

Change the habit.

Take the first step.

You don’t have to become everything overnight.

You simply have to stop abandoning the person who is seeking expression through you.

And here’s the beautiful part:

You don’t have to rush through the journey just to reach the destination.

You can Enjoy Becoming that person.

Growing. Learning. Falling. Rising. Adjusting. Expanding.

Because whether we realize it or not, we are always becoming.

The question is:

Are you becoming by design… or by default?

Don’t wait until the last day to meet the person you could have been.

Become intentionally.

... Read moreThe powerful idea of not waiting for permission to become your best self truly resonates in everyday life. The phrase "DON'T WAIT FOR PERMISSION" is more than just a motivational quote—it's a call to action to stop letting external circumstances or fear dictate your personal growth. From my own experience, waiting for the "perfect moment" only delays progress and breeds regret. Sometimes, the biggest hurdle is the invisible barrier of waiting for approval or the so-called right conditions. One practical way to overcome this is by setting small, achievable goals that don’t require anyone else’s consent. For example, if you dream of writing a book, start by journaling a few minutes daily. If you want to launch a business, research and build your skills bit by bit before taking the leap. These initial actions break the cycle of waiting and build momentum. Moreover, the journey of becoming is continuous, involving growth through successes and failures alike. Embracing this process means allowing yourself to learn, fall, and rise without harsh judgment. It's empowering to realize that you have far more influence over your life’s direction than you might expect, and waiting passively only lets opportunities pass by. This approach also aligns with the concept of "becoming by design," where you intentionally shape your path instead of defaulting to circumstances. It urges us to consciously choose who we want to be and take deliberate steps toward that vision every day. Incorporating this mindset can transform daily habits and interactions. Instead of postponing important conversations, creative projects, or lifestyle changes, begin them now—even imperfectly. The key is consistent progress rather than waiting for fear to subside or conditions to be perfect. By embracing becoming as an ongoing adventure with patience and self-compassion, you enjoy more fulfillment and avoid the regret of waiting until the last day to meet the person you could have been. This message encourages us all to stop buying time and rather start using the gift of today to express our true potential.
