HDB Corridor Revamp

Me and the 41-year-old HDB corridor both have a few cracks… so we decided it’s time for a glow up~ 😆

Used Google Gemini to help visualise the potential of this space. A faux grass, a reskinned cabinet, and some easy greens, make coming home feel a little nicer every day 😌🌿

... Read moreRevamping an old HDB corridor can be a rewarding project that significantly boosts the comfort and appeal of your home environment. From my personal experience, using digital tools like Google Gemini can be a game-changer, offering a clear visualization of potential changes before you commit any physical effort or cost. One of the most impactful updates I made was adding a faux grass patch. Not only does this bring a splash of color, but it also creates a refreshing tactile experience underfoot, mimicking the outdoors right at your doorstep. Combined with a few easy-to-maintain plants, it helps promote a calming atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a busy day. Reskinning the cabinet was another straightforward yet effective way to modernize the space. Instead of replacing large furniture pieces, applying new finishes or wallpapers can give old cabinets a fresh look without breaking the bank. I found that even subtle texture changes made a big difference in brightening up the corridor. Throughout this revamp, using Google Gemini allowed me to experiment with different layouts and color palettes virtually, which saved time and prevented costly mistakes. It’s fascinating how technology can provide a preview of how your home can look, boosting confidence in your design choices. If you’re considering a similar glow-up for your HDB corridor or any small area at home, I highly recommend starting with simple, budget-friendly updates and making good use of visualization tools. These steps can transform a worn-out corridor into a welcoming passage that sets a positive tone every time you step inside.

🏡Makeover My Resale HDB Corridor
When you buy an older resale HDB, the corridor often comes with a little... character. 😅 Ours had stains, an old doorbell, leftover illegal wiring, and a few other quirks. Here’s what we did step-by-step: 1️⃣ Cleaned up first – Removed old wiring, bolts, and the doorbell, then patched holes w

Decking at HDB corridor
Did our corridor decking 5 months back and decided to share about it since it received quite a few praises from our friends & family. We initially wanted to get Ikea’s decking but it’s a common problem that a lot of decking sold does not fit the limited space below the BTO door. Decided to

60 secs home tour - Entryway
When you step in, the first thing you’ll notice is our simple entryway—just the essentials. We fell in love with the extended access corridor, bought by the previous owners. Fun fact: the bench was left behind by them, and it’s now our favorite—spacious enough for four, though it’s usually just

These 2 factors made us reject 10 HDB units
Okay so after visiting 11 different projects, we finally committed to an estate. Done, right? Wrong. Choosing the estate was only HALF the decision. We still had to pick THE unit. At our project, there were 14 available units. Out of those 14, we crossed off 10 almost immediately. Before w

How seamless doors changed my home
Do I regret changing my HDB doors to customised seamless doors? Absolutely not. They blend perfectly with the overall look of the house, keeping the foyer clean, minimal, and uncluttered. Every time I walk past, I’m reminded why I wanted this so much. Yes, the cost was on the high side… but
