Italian & European tiles cheaper than Hafary?! 🤯
Everyone knows the “Big 4” tile shops — Hafary, Soon Bee Huat, Lian Seng Hin & Hup Kiong.
But during our tile hunt, we discovered a lesser-known boutique tile shop that honestly surprised us.
📍 Rice Fields
They carry a huge range of tiles from Italy & Europe, with some options from China too. Their first floor even features designer tiles (pricey, but stunning 👀). The space itself feels more like a design studio than a tile shop — cosy, curated and calm.
What really stood out was the experience.
✨ Knowledgeable staff who actually listen and recommend based on your needs
✨ Adjustable lighting temperatures so you can see how tiles look in different warmth
✨ Every tile has a barcode you can scan to view the full catalogue instantly
And the biggest surprise? The prices.
Some Italian tiles were even cheaper than Hafary 😮
Do note that certain tiles require indent orders with a 6–8 week lead time.
We ended up ordering our tiles from Rice Fields and can’t wait to see them installed. Highly recommend adding this spot to your tile shopping list if you’re renovating!
👉 We also found another tile shop that gives discounts on top of display prices — sharing next 👀
When it comes to selecting tiles for a renovation project, finding the perfect balance between style, quality, and cost can be quite challenging. From my personal experience searching for beautiful tiles that won't break the bank, Rice Fields stands out as a hidden gem worth considering. Unlike the well-known 'Big 4' tile shops such as Hafary, Soon Bee Huat, Lian Seng Hin, and Hup Kiong, Rice Fields offers a more curated and bespoke shopping environment that feels more like a design studio. One standout feature that truly impressed me is their adjustable lighting setup. This allows you to see how different tiles look under various lighting temperatures, helping you visualize how the tiles will appear in your own home at different times of day. It’s a game-changer because tile color and texture can look very different under natural daylight versus warm or cool artificial lighting. Another advantage is their use of barcodes on every tile, allowing instant access to full catalogues on your phone. This not only streamlines the browsing process but also helps in comparing options without overwhelming paper catalogues. The staff here are genuinely knowledgeable and take time to listen to your needs, offering tailored recommendations rather than generic suggestions. One important consideration is the lead time for some tiles, especially those that require indent orders from Europe or Italy—typically 6 to 8 weeks. While this requires some planning ahead, the price advantage and tile quality make it worthwhile if you’re not in a rush. Personally, I found some stunning Italian tiles priced lower than equivalent options at Hafary, which was a pleasant surprise. If you're embarking on a renovation or simply upgrading your space with designer tiles, I highly recommend visiting Rice Fields. It’s an excellent spot for people who want a more refined shopping experience with access to unique tiles that meld European craftsmanship with affordability. Lastly, keep an eye out for other tile shops offering discounts on top of display prices. Combining these finds can help you secure great deals without compromising on style or quality. Happy tile hunting!
I do admit they have some of the most beautiful tiles but not many of us want the hassle of searching for an installater.
