WHAT IS RULE 2 OF GHOSTS OF TABOR?!

When I first dropped into Ghosts of Tabor, I was just like any other newbie – excited, a little terrified, and definitely prone to making rookie mistakes. One of the biggest lessons I learned, which I now affectionately call "Rule 2," is something every aspiring "old ghost of Tabor" needs to engrave into their psyche: Don't get greedy; know when to extract. I remember this one raid vividly. I'd just wiped a duo in Research, found an amazing gear set, a few valuable relics, and my backpack was bursting. My heart was pounding, the adrenaline was high, and I thought, "Just one more room, one more kill, one more piece of loot!" My extraction point was literally a minute away. But no, greed whispered its sweet nothings. I pushed into the next corridor, heard footsteps, and before I could even react, I was downed by a silent, well-placed shot. Everything gone. All that hard-earned loot, vanished. It was a brutal lesson, and one that many players, myself included, have learned the hard way. That experience was a turning point for me. It made me realize that true survival in Tabor isn't about how many enemies you can take down, but about how effectively you manage risk and secure your gains. An "old ghost of Tabor" isn't necessarily the player with the highest kill count, but the one who consistently walks out of raids with valuable gear, builds their economy, and knows the maps like the back of their hand. They understand that sometimes, the smartest play is to cut your losses or consolidate your wins. Applying Rule 2 changed my gameplay completely. Now, before I even jump into a raid, I think about my primary objective. Is it to complete a mission? Find specific loot? Or just practice PvP? Once that objective is met, or if I find something incredibly valuable early on, I immediately start considering my exit strategy. I've learned to resist the urge to chase every gunshot or clear every single room. Sometimes, hearing another player's footsteps means it's time to reposition, not engage. Sometimes, a full backpack with decent loot is far better than a dead body with nothing. If you want to become a seasoned "old ghost of Tabor," start by adopting this mindset. Set realistic goals for each raid. Learn the various extraction points on every map, and always keep an eye on your remaining raid time. Practice making the difficult decision to leave early, even if you feel like you could get more. You'll find that by prioritizing extraction and not letting greed cloud your judgment, your survival rate will skyrocket, your gear stash will grow, and you'll accumulate experience that genuinely makes you a formidable presence in the treacherous world of Ghosts of Tabor. It's a simple rule, but it’s absolutely game-changing.
