Hey everyone, Geek here again! So many of you have been curious about my Diablo 3 Switch gameplay, especially when it comes to those elusive 'keys' that unlock so much of the endgame. As a fellow player who’s spent countless hours battling demons in Sanctuary on my Nintendo Switch, I totally get it – understanding how to get and use these keys can be a game-changer for your seasonal journey and overall progression. One of the most important 'keys' you’ll constantly be chasing are Greater Rift Keystones. These aren't physical keys you pick up from a monster, but rather special items that drop when you complete a regular Nephalem Rift. The higher the difficulty you play Nephalem Rifts on, the more Keystones you're likely to get, and sometimes even multiple at once! For me, hitting those Torment 16 Nephalem Rifts reliably is the sweet spot for farming Keystones. Once you have them, you use them at the Obelisk in town to open a Greater Rift, which is where you truly test your build, earn massive experience, and get upgraded Legendary Gems. On the Switch, I find that quickly zipping through Nephalem Rifts while on the go is super convenient, making Keystone farming less of a chore. Then there are the 'keys' you get from Horadric Caches after completing bounties. While not called 'keys' directly, these caches contain crucial crafting materials like Khanduran Runes, Caldeum Nightshade, Arreat War Tapestry, Corrupted Angel Flesh, and Westmarch Holy Water. You need these materials for Kanai's Cube recipes, especially for extracting legendary powers and reforging legendaries. Running bounties on the Switch is a different rhythm than rifts – it’s about navigating different zones and completing specific tasks. I often save up a bunch of bounties and then blast through them with friends, since playing with a group makes bouncing between acts much faster. Plus, the portability of the Switch means I can fit in a few bounty runs during a quick break without needing to be tethered to my TV. Beyond these, there are also metaphorical 'keys' in Diablo 3: the legendary items and set pieces that truly unlock a build’s potential. Finding that one specific legendary that completes your set or provides a crucial damage multiplier feels just like finding a master key to a whole new level of power. For instance, getting the right set boots or a particular weapon can instantly elevate your character from struggling to dominating. I've had so many exciting moments on stream when a key legendary finally drops, and the chat goes wild! It's these moments of discovery and power spikes that keep me coming back to Diablo 3 Season after Season, whether I'm chilling at home or playing on a train.
