Another movie night!

Oh my goodness, you guys! After seeing the new Garfield movie, I just had to share more about our themed movie night feast. It was seriously a blast, and I hope this inspires your next dinner and a movie night! Planning a themed meal around Garfield is honestly so much fun because he's all about food, especially lasagna! My goal was to create a 'Garfield's Menu' that was delicious, easy, and totally fit the vibe. Garfield's Lasagna: The Star of the Show! You simply cannot have a Garfield movie night without lasagna, right? We went all out with a rich, cheesy, meaty lasagna. I layered mine with a robust marinara sauce, plenty of ricotta, mozzarella, and ground beef. A pro-tip for making your lasagna extra special: don't skimp on the cheese! A mix of mozzarella, provolone, and a sprinkle of Parmesan on top makes it perfectly gooey and browned. Baking it until it's bubbling and the cheese is golden is key. It truly was the centerpiece of our 'Garfield dinner' and everyone loved it, especially knowing Garfield himself would approve! Odie's Dog Bone Breadsticks: A Fun Sidekick! To complement the lasagna, we whipped up some 'Odies Dog Bone Breadsticks.' These were super easy – I just used store-bought pizza dough, rolled it out, cut it into bone shapes, brushed with garlic butter, and baked until golden. They were a huge hit, especially for dipping in extra sauce. It’s such a simple 'theme snacks' idea that adds so much to the experience! UH, Salad? Balancing Act! Even Garfield probably needs a veggie or two (reluctantly, of course!). We kept it simple with a classic Caesar salad. It brought a nice freshness to balance out the richness of the lasagna and breadsticks. A crisp, green salad with a creamy dressing and crunchy croutons makes you feel a little less guilty about all the delicious indulgence! Orange Drink: Keeping it Simple & Thematic! For our 'Garfield drink,' we opted for something super easy and perfectly on-theme: orange Gatorade! It's bright orange, just like Garfield, and totally fuss-free. Sometimes the best themed elements are the simplest. You could also do orange soda or even fresh orange juice if you prefer. Reese's Pieces Cookies: Garfield Eating Cookies! And for dessert? Of course, 'Reese's Pieces Cookies'! I used a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe and swapped out chocolate chips for a generous amount of Reese's Pieces. The colorful candies and peanut butter flavor were absolutely divine. Watching the movie while enjoying these cookies felt like a true Garfield-approved indulgence. It's so easy to bake a batch, or even pick up some from your local bakery if you're short on time.
