The Ultimate 4D3N KL Trip

Just got back from a mini break in KL.

If you are planning a short trip/vacation to KL here’s what you need to know!

Mode of transport ✈️:

I travelled via Scoot and it was approximately 160 sgd for a round trip. Honestly feel if this is the best as it took only 1hr vs 6.5 hours on a bus trip but cheaper.

Arrival: 🛬

Took the KLIA Express airport train which brought me directly to KL Sentral within 30 mins. 💰55 ringgit. Thereafter take Grab to your hotel/airbnb

Places to visit:

ICC Pudu 🍲 :This is the place where locals have their lunch. Price are more affordable. Paid about 💰12 ringgit for a hearty bowl of mee kia with meat in soup.

KLCC Twin Tower: The all-famous twin tower which was once the tallest building in the world. I would say visit mainly for your Instagrammy shots.

Billion Onsen Spa: This is one of the biggest outlet in KL for spa which spans the entire level. A nice spot to relax after a days of shopping. They also have an unlimited buffet order system. Food is good!

Central Market: To be frank, here is built more for tourists. A nice place to get your souvenirs. There are also interesting cafes nearby which are of walking distance like the yorimichi cafe which serves nice cakes

Merdeka Square: Basically the Malaysian version of Padang in SG. The birthplace of Malaysia’s independence. Place is windy and nice for photos.

The Gasket Alley: A place for foodies and photos. They have a nice ramen bar which unfortunately was closed when I visited. HALO the donut shop is also a must-visit! They offer really nice donuts with a nice bite !

🛍️ Pavilion: A place mainly for luxury boutique goods like Louis Vuitton, Gucci and all. All the side malls like Lot10 are also situated beside. There is also a mcdonalds nearby that is popular for photos.

Beyond the highlights I mentioned, consider adding a visit to Batu Caves, which is a stunning limestone hill with Hindu temples and caves—great for experiencing local culture and taking impressive photos. When it comes to local cuisine, aside from ICC Pudu’s hearty mee kia, try exploring Jalan Alor street food night market for more variety. This lively area offers an authentic taste of Malaysian street food with stalls serving char kway teow, satay, and tropical fruit drinks. Transport-wise, the KLIA Express is indeed the fastest way into the city from the airport, but within the city, using Grab (a popular ride-hailing app) is very convenient and affordable for hopping between attractions. Also, tapping into the LRT (light rapid transit) network can be an efficient way to avoid traffic, especially during rush hours. For shopping beyond Pavilion and Lot 10, check out Berjaya Times Square for a mix of retail and entertainment including an indoor theme park, or explore the boutiques in Bukit Bintang for trendy fashions. In terms of relaxation after your city adventures, Billion Onsen Spa with its full buffet and unlimited orders is a fantastic treat. Alternatively, you might want to visit a traditional Malaysian foot spa for a refreshing reflexology session. Lastly, keep an eye out for local cafes like Yorimichi near Central Market and HALO donut shop in The Gasket Alley—it’s the perfect way to enjoy a coffee break and grab an Instagram-worthy shot. These spots blend great food with cozy atmospheres, ideal for unwinding and soaking in the city vibe. Overall, a 4-day trip to Kuala Lumpur offers an exciting mix of cultural exploration, culinary delights, retail therapy, and relaxation that’s perfect for a quick yet memorable getaway.
