In my experience, fertilizing intentionally can truly transform a garden’s productivity and health. Using Dr. Earth all-purpose fertilizer provides balanced nutrients suitable for both flowers and vegetables, which means I don’t have to worry about switching products mid-season. It’s especially effective when applied during flowering stages—such as when tomatoes, peppers, and strawberries start blooming—to encourage more fruit set and vibrant blooms. I’ve also found that fish fertilizer complements the Dr. Earth product well, particularly for promoting strong root systems and enhancing fruit size. The natural amino acids and micronutrients in fish fertilizer help plants absorb nutrients more efficiently, which results in healthier growth overall. I soak the fertilizer mixture for about 24 hours before applying it to ensure maximum nutrient availability. One thing I’ve learned is that fertilizing during or after rain can be beneficial as the moisture helps nutrients penetrate the soil better. However, timing is key; applying fertilizer when plants are actively growing or flowering yields the best results. Maintaining healthy soil through these methods has shown me that thriving plants are indeed the foundation of a successful garden. Healthy roots develop into productive plants with more substantial fruit yields. This approach underscores the mantra I follow: healthy soil equals healthy plants, which equals real, visible results during harvest time. Lastly, being intentional about what I feed my garden has made gardening much more rewarding. It’s not just about growing plants, but about growing with purpose and care. This mindset shift has increased my connection to the process and helped me appreciate each stage of growth, from fertilizing to enjoying a bountiful harvest.
