My favorite hobby: Makeup!!!!!!!!!

#lemon8contest #AskLemon8

Here are some selfies I took from different times where I was in my favorite looks. (Most of these are from before I hit my hair cut a couple weeks ago! With my health challenges, it is hard for me to do makeup everyday.)

I would love to meet and talk to other makeup hobbiests and maybe do challenges once a week to hone in on my makeup skills.

Any takers???? 💄💋💅🏻

I also would love to post tutorials for people just starting to get into make up!

... Read moreHey everyone! It's so amazing to see so many of you interested in makeup as a hobby. For me, it's truly a creative outlet and a wonderful way to express myself. It's not just about looking good; it's the process, the learning, and the transformation that makes it so rewarding. When I'm playing with new palettes or trying out a new technique, it feels like meditation – a moment just for me to experiment and have fun. Even with my health challenges, finding those moments to dive into my makeup stash is incredibly uplifting and therapeutic. If you're wondering if makeup can truly be a hobby, absolutely! Think about it: collecting products, experimenting with looks, learning new skills, and even sharing your creations – it's all part of the fun. For beginners, please don't feel overwhelmed. Start with the basics: a good foundation or tinted moisturizer, a touch of blush, mascara, and a comfortable lip color. You don't need a huge, expensive collection right away. My personal journey started with a focus on achieving that 'glowy, natural looking finish' – it’s a fantastic way to build confidence and understand your face before exploring more complex styles. You can build up your collection gradually! I've shared some of my favorite looks before, like that 'warm look with the red lippie' and coordinating cherry earrings, which always makes me feel put-together and confident. But I'm constantly pushing myself! I've been really wanting to practice more 'high glam' and 'play with color more,' as you might have seen in some of my 'GLAM. GLAM. GLAM.' moments. Don't be afraid to step out of your comfort zone, whether it's trying a smoky eye or a bold graphic liner. Each attempt is a learning experience, and that's what hobbies are all about! The OCR also caught my desire to perfect my 'full face/mid glam look' – it's all about practice. Beyond just applying makeup, the hobby also extends to research – watching tutorials, reading reviews, and discovering new brands and techniques. And the best part? The community! I'm always on the lookout for fellow makeup enthusiasts to chat with, share tips, and maybe even do some weekly challenges. Imagine, learning to create a perfect cut crease together, or mastering contouring! It’s so much more fun when you have others to share the journey with. So, if makeup is your escape, your creative space, or even just something you're curious about, definitely lean into it. It’s a hobby that brings so much joy and confidence, and I can't wait to see what looks you all come up with!
