AM Coffee Protein Shake Recipe Delicious & Filling

The kids are out for Fall break but I’m still continuing my normal routine! This is my go-to breakfast protein shake, it taste great and gives you the energy you need to start your day!

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup rolled oats (for fiber & fullness)

• 1 cup oat creamer (adds creaminess without overpowering)

• 1 shot of espresso or 1/2 cup brewed coffee (your morning energy boost!)

• 1 tbsp caramel liquid syrup (just the right touch of sweetness)

• 2 tbsp peanut butter powder (rich in protein and flavor)

• 1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder (boosts protein and tastes amazing)

• 1/2 cup ice (optional, for a chilled shake)

Instructions:

1. Add all ingredients to a blender.

2. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust ice or oat creamer for desired thickness.

3. Pour into your favorite glass or shaker and enjoy!

Why It Works:

• Keeps You Full Longer: Oats and protein create the perfect slow-digesting combo, keeping hunger away.

• Supports Weight Gain: Packed with nutrient-dense calories for healthy muscle gain when paired with gym sessions.

• Tastes Better Than Most Protein Drinks: The caramel and peanut butter flavors pair perfectly with coffee, masking any “chalky” protein taste.

Pro Tip: Make it the night before for a quick grab-and-go breakfast!

... Read moreBeyond just a delicious kickstart, this coffee protein shake is a powerhouse for your morning. I've found it truly transforms my energy levels and keeps those mid-morning cravings at bay. The blend of slow-digesting carbs from oats – I usually grab some Great Value Quick Oats – with high-quality protein, like nu therapy's vanilla whey, creates a sustained release of energy. Plus, the coffee isn't just for taste; that Folgers Colombian Ground Coffee shot really helps with focus and can even give your metabolism a gentle nudge. One of my favorite things about this recipe is how easily you can tweak it to fit your taste or dietary needs. For sweetness, while I adore Torani Salted Caramel, you could swap it for a sugar-free syrup or even a date. If peanut butter isn't your thing, try almond butter powder instead of PB2 Powdered Peanut Butter, or skip it entirely for a lighter shake. Want more greens? A handful of spinach blends in seamlessly without affecting the flavor, boosting your nutrient intake! For extra creaminess, sometimes I use a different flavored Planet Oat Oatmilk Creamer, or even half a frozen banana. Making this shake a consistent part of your routine is key to seeing the benefits. I often prep my dry ingredients the night before – oats, protein powder, and PB2 – in a small container. Then, in the morning, it's just a quick blend with liquid, coffee, and ice. This 'grab-and-go' strategy is a lifesaver on busy weekdays. If you're sensitive to caffeine, you can absolutely use decaf Folgers or even just a splash of coffee extract for flavor, reducing the caffeine content while still enjoying that delicious coffee taste. I used to buy pre-made protein drinks, but honestly, nothing beats the freshness and customizable goodness of homemade. You control the ingredients, avoiding unnecessary sugars or additives. And with amazing components like the rich Torani Salted Caramel syrup, you get that gourmet coffee shop flavor right at home, without the hefty price tag! It’s truly a delicious way to support your wellness goals, whether you're aiming for sustained energy or looking for a convenient way to add more protein and healthy calories to your diet.

I've been meaning to find a good protein powder for some shakes. I'm just not sure which one is beneficial and tastes good too. I had gotten one from Mexico but I forgot the brand name so I can't really order it again sadly. Creamy vanilla sounds yum!

I also have a very picky eater at home so I put a scoop of the PB2 and a scoop of the vanilla whey protein in some pancake mix and he loves it! 🥞
