When I first heard the word 'equanimous,' I instantly pictured someone who moves through life with grace, unfazed by the daily ups and downs. But what does it truly mean to be an 'equanimous woman'? It goes beyond just being calm; it's about cultivating a deep sense of internal balance and peace, even amidst external chaos. For me, an equanimous woman isn't someone who never feels emotions, but rather someone who observes them without being swept away. She’s the steady anchor in a storm, capable of remaining composed and even-tempered when faced with challenges. Think of the 'calm woman sitting cross-legged' in meditation – that's the essence. She acknowledges difficulties but doesn't let them dictate her inner state. This means she makes decisions from a place of clarity, not reactivity. So, how can we cultivate this amazing state? I've found a few practices incredibly helpful. Firstly, mindfulness. Taking a few moments each day to just breathe and notice my thoughts without judgment has been a game-changer. It helps me recognize when I'm starting to feel overwhelmed and allows me to gently guide myself back to a 'calm, composed, and even-tempered' mindset. Secondly, I try to practice acceptance. Not everything goes according to plan, and embracing that reality rather than fighting it helps me conserve energy and maintain my peace. Lastly, setting healthy boundaries, whether with my time or my energy, ensures I don't overcommit and get stressed. It’s a journey, not a destination, but striving for equanimity truly makes a difference in how I navigate my world.

I feel like sometimes I can be a 10 but sometimes I’m a five or even a zero depends on the day. I have a two year-old running around so it really test my nerves sometimes but we are working on it and on good days I’m at 10.
