Why I quit
I started working at five below back in May and I was really excited this was my favorite store. However as I started getting my hours I worked once a day once a week now that is not enough money to save for anything (12$ an hour 6 hours in one day a week) so I asked if there was anymore days I could work and was told no. I then decided it was time to find a new job and soon found a better paying job with more hours! The people were really nice though!

Deciding to leave a job can be difficult, especially in a retail environment where the employees are often passionate about the products. Many individuals find themselves in situations similar to mine after realizing that part-time hours aren't sufficient for financial stability. Five Below, a favorite for many shoppers, offers a fun atmosphere, but not every employee finds the same joy. I earned $12 an hour for only a six-hour shift once a week—barely enough to cover daily expenses. This raises an important consideration: how much should hourly workers make? The reality is many seek employment opportunities that offer not just better pay but also the potential for more hours. In a strong job market, exploring options for better positions isn't uncommon. Prioritizing financial stability, benefits, and a supportive work culture is crucial as job seekers evaluate their options. For those in retail or part-time work contemplating a change, it's essential to weigh the pros and cons of your current position. If you're feeling undervalued, perhaps it's time to take the leap like I did and reach for better opportunities!
