Tour My Los Angeles Apartment
Here’s a little tour of my sunny LA apartment! I love this space and have called it home for almost a decade. Here’s a quick peek of the space.
The bedroom: the bedroom is my sunny spot with the coziest linen bedding. I adore this little room. It’s my plants favorite room and they all thrive in this space. Look at my giant fiddle leaf fig that grows massive in this space.
The living room: this space is where I spend most of my time lounging, watching TV, and reading. I adore the French doors and tend to open them in the summertime to let the breeze blow in and jump back and forth between the little yard and the living room.
The dining space: the little dining nook for 2. It’s a small space but it’s perfect for the two of us.
The yard: having a yard in the city is a blessing and I cherish every second of this space. It’s my favorite place for a morning coffee, evening book read, weekend sunbathing and everything in between.
That’s my little apartment tour! Stay tuned for the tour of my vacation house out in the desert coming soon!

It's funny how a living room can truly become the heart of an apartment, especially in a city like Los Angeles where outdoor space can be a luxury! After calling my LA apartment home for nearly a decade, I've learned a lot about making the living room not just functional, but a true sanctuary. When I first moved in, I really wanted to maximize that amazing natural light. One of my favorite finds was a light-colored sectional sofa. It keeps the space feeling open and airy, even in a smaller footprint. I paired it with a classic brown leather armchair – it's surprisingly versatile and adds a touch of warmth. For flooring, a patterned rug ties everything together and adds a layer of comfort underfoot. It’s amazing how much a good rug can define a space and make it feel cozier! And speaking of cozy, plants are an absolute must for an LA living room, especially if you have a sunny spot like mine. My large fiddle leaf fig plant absolutely thrives here, and I've also peppered in smaller options like a vibrant potted aloe plant on my white ladder shelf. That shelf is a lifesaver for displaying books, a little cactus print, and other decorative items without cluttering surfaces. The green French doors leading out to the yard are truly a game-changer. They blur the lines between indoor and outdoor living, which is quintessential LA. On a beautiful day, opening them up and letting the breeze flow through instantly transforms the vibe. It also provides a lovely backdrop of various plants from the yard. If you have any kind of outdoor access, even a small balcony, try to integrate it visually into your living room decor. A simple trick is to use similar colors or textures both inside and out. I also love creating little zones within my living room. There’s the main lounging area, of course, but then a smaller corner with my armchair that’s perfect for reading. Think about how you use your living room throughout the day. Do you entertain? Do you work from home sometimes? Having adaptable furniture and decor can really make a difference. Things like versatile side tables or even a storage ottoman can be incredibly practical. Ultimately, designing an LA apartment living room is about embracing the light, bringing the outdoors in, and creating a space that feels uniquely 'you.' It doesn't have to break the bank either; sometimes the best finds are second-hand or handmade. It's about taking the time to curate pieces that speak to you and make your everyday living just a little bit brighter. I hope these tips help you create your own perfect LA living space!
