I’m very tired ALL THE TIME
Being a mom to three kids while simultaneously training for a marathon is an incredibly demanding lifestyle that can leave you feeling exhausted almost constantly. From my own experience, the key to managing this fatigue lies in prioritization, recovery, and mindset. First, it’s important to listen to your body and adjust your training intensity when needed. Some days, pushing too hard only leads to burnout, so allowing yourself rest or lighter exercise can be beneficial. Incorporating short naps or moments of mindfulness during busy summer days helps recharge both your physical and mental reserves. Meal planning and hydration also play an essential role. Preparing nutritious meals that provide sustained energy, rich in complex carbohydrates, protein, and healthy fats, supports your endurance and recovery. Staying well-hydrated reduces exhaustion, especially when balancing outdoor activities in the heat. Another helpful strategy is involving your children in your fitness routine when possible. Whether it’s active play, family walks, or casual jogs with the stroller, this turns training into quality family time while keeping you moving. Lastly, setting realistic goals and celebrating small milestones keeps motivation high. Remember, persistence over perfection is what matters. Embracing the chaos, yet carving out moments for self-care, helps maintain balance and reduces the feeling of being overwhelmed. Overall, managing constant tiredness as a busy mom training for a marathon is challenging but achievable with intentional rest, nutrition, and emotional support.
