HOW TO: GET ON PR LISTS ✨

Do you want free stuff from your favorite brands? If you said YES, keep reading… 📖

There are a couple ways I’ve been able to get on PR lists/ get gifted collabs for brands like Summer Fridays, Good Molecule, Function of Beauty, and more!

The first thing I suggest is building the relationship with the brand!! Whether it be posting about them on your story and tagging them, DMing them expressing your love for them, or even making full on reels/ tiktoks with the brand and tagging them. The more you show your support genuinely, the more likely you’ll be able to land a PR box/ get on the PR list!

Secondly, you can reach out to them via email. This is a much more professional approach to a DM, and shows the brand you’re interested in working with them! You can offer UGC content, or even ask for a gifted collab if all you really want is the free products. Make sure to include a portfolio/ media kit if you want to create content for them so they can see your work!

You can also apply through the brands websites for their affiliate/ content creator campaigns! A lot of big brands will have a section for this at the bottom of their websites!

Overall, I’d say the best way to get gifted collabs/ get on the PR list of brands is to consistently show your support on socials, they’ll notice your support and if they feel like you’re a good fit, they might even reach out to you!

If you want to learn more about how to get PR/ gifted collabs and even make $$ for creating content for your favorite brands, comment “me” and I’ll send you my “beginner guide for UGC creators” 🎀

... Read moreHey everyone! I remember when I first started my content creation journey, seeing my favorite creators unbox incredible free products from brands felt like a distant dream. I mean, who wouldn't want to receive exciting packages, maybe even some delicious mushroom coffee or organic overnight oats, just for sharing what they love? It took some trial and error, but I've figured out a few key strategies that genuinely help you get noticed and land a spot on those coveted PR lists. One of the most effective ways I've found to 'sign up for a PR list,' even if there isn't a direct sign-up button, is through a well-crafted email. Forget generic templates! Brands receive tons of emails, so yours needs to stand out. When I reach out, I always start with a subject line that clearly states my intent, like "Collaboration Proposal: [Your Name/Niche] x [Brand Name]" or "UGC Content Opportunity: Loving Your [Specific Product]!" This immediately tells them who you are and what you want. In the email body, genuine enthusiasm is key. Don't just say you like their brand; tell them *why*. Mention specific products you adore – perhaps how their mushroom coffee gives you the perfect morning boost, or how their organic overnight oats make breakfast a breeze. Then, pivot to your value. What can you offer them? I usually propose creating unique user-generated content (UGC) that aligns with my style and their brand aesthetic. I might even include a couple of quick content ideas right in the email to spark their interest. Always, always attach your media kit or a link to your portfolio. This isn't just a resume; it's your creative showcase! Make sure it highlights your best work, audience demographics, and engagement rates. Even if you don't have massive numbers yet, showing consistent quality and genuine engagement goes a long way. Beyond the initial email, nurturing relationships is crucial. I’ve noticed that simply tagging a brand in my stories or posts isn't enough; it's about consistent, authentic engagement. I make an effort to comment thoughtfully on their posts, share their campaigns, and even create organic content featuring their products before I even think about a collaboration. Brands are smart; they can spot genuine fans versus those just looking for freebies. This consistent support often gets you noticed, and sometimes, they’ll even reach out to *you*! That’s the dream, right? And don’t forget the hidden gems on brand websites! Many larger brands, and even some smaller ones, have dedicated sections for creators. I've spent time scouring footers for links like "Collaborate with Us," "Influencer Program," "Affiliate Opportunities," or "Creator Community." These pages often have application forms where you can officially 'sign up for their PR list' or creator program. It's like finding a secret portal to gifted collaborations! Always be thorough in your application, linking your social media and media kit. Ultimately, getting on PR lists is a combination of strategic outreach, genuine passion, and persistence. It won't happen overnight, but by consistently showcasing your love for brands and presenting your value professionally, you'll start seeing those exciting packages arrive at your doorstep. Keep creating, keep sharing, and those PR opportunities will absolutely follow!
