Never like someone because of their beauty,
Because natural beauty changes to become unbeautiful, young becomes old, that's for sure
From my own experience, I've come to realize how fleeting physical beauty really is. When I was younger, I admired people mostly for their appearances, thinking that beauty was everything. However, as time passed, I noticed how natural beauty changes — youthful looks fade, and physical traits evolve. This change made me appreciate something more meaningful: the character and kindness of a person. True connection comes from understanding someone’s values, humor, and heart rather than just admiring their outward look. External beauty might attract us initially, but it’s the inner qualities that sustain long-lasting relationships. In many cultures, the emphasis on beauty can be intense and overwhelming. For example, the phrase “Secantik apasih dulunya??” roughly translates to questioning how beautiful someone really was before, reminding us that beauty is temporary and subjective. This resonates deeply with the notion that we shouldn’t base love or admiration on appearance alone. Hence, while it’s natural to notice beauty, it’s vital to develop appreciation for a person’s personality and soul. This shift in perspective has helped me build more genuine, meaningful bonds — friendships and relationships that endure beyond physical changes. So, never like someone just for their beauty, because what truly matters is the person within.
