Is my husband the only one that does this? 🤣

It seems like many of us can relate to a partner who has their own unique way of communicating... sometimes at the top of their lungs! My original post was just a quick laugh about my husband's 'AMAZONNNN' shouts, but it got me thinking more deeply about why husbands (or partners!) might develop these loud habits and how we, as their spouses, navigate them. Why walk over to ask a question when you can just project your voice across the house? Or perhaps it's a way of marking their presence, a little subconscious 'I'm here!' announcement. For some, it might even be a habit formed from childhood or a way to blow off steam. It's rarely malicious, I've found, but it can definitely be an adjustment. So, how do we deal with our loud-and-proud partners? For the genuinely humorous instances, like my husband's 'AMAZONNNN,' I often just laugh it off or playfully mimic him. It keeps the atmosphere light and often makes him realize how silly he sounds. Other times, when I'm really trying to concentrate or if the noise level gets a bit much, I've found that gentle communication works best. Instead of "Stop yelling!", something like, "Hey love, could you use your inside voice? I'm trying to focus here," usually gets a better response. It’s about setting soft boundaries without making them feel like they’re doing something inherently wrong. I've also learned to pick my battles. If he's just expressing excitement loudly, I embrace it. If he's constantly interrupting my peace, that's when a calm conversation is useful. Understanding that these behaviors often stem from personality quirks rather than deliberate annoyance has been a game-changer for me. It helps me approach it with more patience and a sense of humor.
