I’m an esthetician, and this is the exact routine I trust for my own oily skin✨

One of the biggest misconceptions about oily skin is that you need to dry it out. In reality, oily skin still needs hydration, barrier support, and daily SPF.

This is the routine I personally use to keep my skin balanced:

🫧 Ultra Gentle Gel Cleanser – Cleanses without stripping my skin.

✨ 8% L-Mandelic Serum – Helps keep my pores clear, improves texture, and supports clearer skin over time.

💧 HydraBalance Gel – Oily skin still needs hydration. Dehydrated skin can actually produce more oil.

🛡️ Barrier Care Gel Cream – A super lightweight moisturizer that’s great if your skin needs extra barrier support. I love layering it over HydraBalance, but not everyone with oily skin needs both.

☀️ PowerMineral SPF 50 – The skincare step I never skip. Daily SPF helps protect your skin and prevent post-breakout marks from becoming more noticeable.

Every routine should be customized to your skin, but these are the products I trust on my own.

Have oily skin? What’s your biggest skincare struggle? 🤍

... Read moreAs someone who has struggled with oily skin for years, I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to shift away from harsh routines that focus solely on drying out your skin. The common misconception that oily skin must be stripped of moisture can actually backfire, leading to even more oil production and worsening breakouts. In my experience, choosing products that hydrate without clogging pores is essential. The Ultra Gentle Gel Cleanser is a perfect start because it thoroughly cleanses while maintaining your skin’s natural moisture barrier. I’ve often seen that cleansers leaving a 'tight' feeling can signal over-cleansing, which stimulates excess oil. Incorporating a gentle exfoliating serum like the 8% L-Mandelic Acid serum has been a game-changer for me. Mandelic acid is a mild alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) known to help prevent pore congestion, improve overall skin texture, and reduce acne formation without causing irritation—something particularly important for oily, acne-prone skin. The HydraBalance Gel moisturizer is another key in balancing oil production by keeping the skin hydrated. From personal experience, hydration reduces my skin’s tendency to overproduce oil to compensate for dryness. It’s lightweight, sinks in quickly, and feels refreshing. For days when my skin barrier feels compromised or dried out—often due to environmental stressors or over-exfoliation—I layer on the super lightweight Barrier Care Gel Cream with the Multi-Restore Complex to soothe and strengthen my skin’s defense. Lastly, never skip SPF. The PowerMineral SPF 50 with CalmShield Complex protects your skin from harmful UV rays that exacerbate post-acne marks and overall skin damage. I've found that a mineral-based SPF pairs well with oily skin because it tends to be less irritating and doesn’t contribute to breakouts. Remember, consistency is crucial. Over time, this routine can help restore balance, minimize breakouts, and improve texture without harsh irritants. If you’re dealing with oily skin, focus on gentle cleansing, regular exfoliation with safe acids, proper hydration, barrier support, and sun protection for the best results.
