So I knew this one was going to be good. You know how sometimes you can just see a cover, read what a books about, and you know the books going to be good? Thats how I was with this one. I knew this one was one I wanted to read, because it was going to be good. Did I expect it to be as good as it was? No. Did I expect to be on an emotional rollercoaster, and be consumed with the story? Also no. This book was a nice change of pace too, because it wasnt my usual book boyfriend. We know Im here for those bad boy, misunderstood villains. This one is very much the golden retriever hero type. Now, dont get me wrong there are a few who also have graced that status along with this one. But what can I say, Im a walking cliche. I prefer the bad boys. Anyways. Gabe is perfection. I was like, wait hold on here, while I add him to the book boyfriend roster. This book is good because it has some darker topics, and it is emotional AF, but its not a dark romance. So its definitely safe for people who love the heart ache, and whatnot that the dark romance brings, but do not always want all the really dark stuff. This one does have some dark stuff too. Anna definitely has some trauma, but it’s just not on the same level. With that I should say check your trigger warnings. Honestly this one didnt disappoint. I loved it. Definitely recommend it!

This is an emotional Contemporary Romance. The Romance in this book is a friends to lovers. The book does have some mild spice that is somewhat descriptive. The book moves at a steady pace following Anna, and Gabe as they are paired together to work on an assignment. Anna is in taking a college class while in high school. After Gabe learns his judgments of Anna were wrong, and he invites her to his parents to work on their assignment. Gabes family, and life is everything Annas is not. Gabe, and Anna become best friends, even with the age difference. Years later an unexpected tragedy brings Anna back to her home town, and sparks fly. Only theres a lot of water under the bridge, how many secrets, and pain can their hearts take before they are torn apart forever? This is a wonderful emotional romance you wont want to put down.

... Read moreHaving just turned the final page on Melissa Wiesner's 'It All Comes Back To You,' I'm still reeling from the emotional journey it took me on. It's truly one of those books that sticks with you long after you've finished reading. What truly captivated me was how Wiesner masterfully weaves together the intricate threads of childhood trauma and unspoken secrets, creating a narrative that feels profoundly real and raw. From the very beginning, the story delves into the weight of 'two broken hearts' and the impact of 'two terrible secrets,' as hinted at by the book's cover. Anna, in particular, carries a past that shapes her every interaction, making her journey of healing and self-discovery incredibly compelling. It's not just about overcoming obstacles; it's about confronting the deepest parts of herself and allowing love to, eventually, bloom. Watching her navigate her vulnerability while finding strength was truly inspiring. This isn't a story where the heroine is magically fixed; it's a nuanced portrayal of resilience. Gabe, on the other hand, is the quintessential 'golden retriever' hero, a stark contrast to Anna's guarded nature. His unwavering support and patience are exactly what Anna needs, highlighting the beautiful dynamic of a friends-to-lovers trope done right. Their connection felt earned, built on years of shared history and understanding, which made their eventual romance so much more impactful. It's a testament to how deep bonds can transform into something more profound, especially when facing life's toughest challenges. For those who appreciate Melissa Wiesner's ability to craft deeply emotional stories, perhaps having enjoyed her other works like 'All The Ways You Break Me,' this book definitely delivers. She has a unique talent for exploring heavy themes like trauma and loss without veering into overly dark territory, making 'It All Comes Back To You' accessible to a wider romance audience who crave that emotional depth without the intense darkness. It's like she finds the perfect balance, giving you all the feels without overwhelming you. This novel serves as a powerful reminder that sometimes, the hardest truths bring about the most profound healing. If you're looking for a contemporary romance that will make you laugh, cry, and ultimately leave you with a sense of hope, then 'It All Comes Back To You' is an absolute must-read. It’s definitely earned a permanent spot on my favorite reads shelf!
