💭Oh man, I forgot how delicious she wrote Jonas. So many times throughout the book, I would set the book down and just go “Oof”, and kind of collect myself. The man was just too hot to handle sometimes. Oh, and the banter *chefs kiss*. The dynamic between Jonas and Skadi was so good. I live for the spicy tension. Especially when it’s done right, and it’s definitely done right in this one! The storyline still kept me hooked even though it was a reread. Skadi’s inner struggles always pull at my heartstrings. Especially her darker backstory. Being this is a darker fantasy romance, there are darker elements which I personally think add depth and feeling to the story, but to some, it may be triggering. Checking the trigger list warnings before reading is recommended. I loved this book the first time I read it and love it even more now. It’s funny how sometimes you enjoy things more the second time.

💬This fantasy romance is book 3 in The Ever Seas series. The romance in this book is an enemies to lovers. This book is spicy with open door spice. Skadi’s power is something to be feared. So Jonas, the nightmare prince, enters into a marriage agreement to ensure his lands remain safe. Skadi and Jonas planned on keeping things cold and contractual and instead find themselves catching more than they had asked for, even as outside forces scheme to keep them apart.

✨Original Review 6/10/24 for Indie Edition✨

💭This book was absolutely mesmerizing. I hated when I had to put it down. This book is another great addition to TBK world. I love these characters, and will be devastated when she ends these books. This author keeps me coming back for more, over and over again with her top notch story telling abilities.

💬 This Enchanting Fantasy Romance takes place in the broken kingdoms world. This book can be read as a stand alone, although would be enjoyed so much more read with the other books situated in this world. The romance is a slower burn. The MCs go into the relationship wanting nothing to do with each other. There is spice. The spicy scenes are written with delicious details. The book isnt all spice, the storyline remains the focus of this wonderful book. The book moves at a quick pace following the MCs as they navigate a marriage of convenience. Except not everyone is as accepting of their vows. This adds excitement, and heartache to the story.

The characters are completely lovable. Both characters have flaws, and strengths. We do see return characters from previous books as well. The world building is done with the style Lj Andrews succeeds at. The book builds the world as the story moves on, keeping the book at a great pace. To previous TBK readers the world is one we know well, and now get to see how it has grown overtime.

... Read moreSo many of you have been curious about 'The Mist Thief' by LJ Andrews, especially regarding its spice level and what makes those chapters so talked about! As someone who absolutely devoured this book (twice!), I'm excited to share a deeper dive into what makes this fantasy romance truly unforgettable, beyond just the heat. Let's get straight to it: yes, 'The Mist Thief' delivers on the spice! If you're looking for open-door scenes that are both passionate and integral to the story, you're in for a treat. This isn't just gratuitous spice; it's a slow burn that builds delicious tension, especially with the enemies-to-lovers trope at its core. The author truly masters the art of emotional and physical intimacy, making every spicy moment feel earned and impactful for Jonas and Skadi’s evolving relationship. I found myself setting my e-reader down, just like when I was reading the physical book, and taking a moment to 'oof' because the chemistry was just that intense. The banter between the main characters only heightens this, making the journey to their intimate moments even more satisfying. What truly elevates the 'spicy chapters' in 'The Mist Thief' is how seamlessly they weave into the plot. The premise of a political marriage and forced proximity between two powerful, warring individuals—Skadi with her feared magic and Jonas, the nightmare prince—creates an incredibly fertile ground for conflict, angst, and undeniable attraction. The intimate scenes are not just standalone moments but rather key developments in their understanding of each other, breaking down their initial animosity. You'll witness their walls crumble, not just through dialogue and action, but also through their vulnerability in those private moments. This intricate dance between power, duty, and desire is what hooked me from the very beginning, and it’s why I believe so many readers are drawn to the depth of this fantasy world. It's important to remember this is a darker fantasy romance, meaning there are elements beyond just the steamy scenes that add complexity. Skadi's darker backstory and inner struggles are deeply explored, adding layers of angst and emotional weight to the narrative. While I personally feel these darker elements add significant depth, providing a rich, immersive experience that resonates, I always recommend checking the trigger warnings beforehand. The story doesn't shy away from difficult themes, which makes the triumphs and connections feel all the more profound. The world-building in 'The Ever Seas' series is captivating, and 'The Mist Thief' is a stellar addition. The author's storytelling abilities are truly top-notch, keeping you invested in every character and plot twist. Even on a reread, the story felt fresh and compelling. The cover art itself, with that striking golden skull on a red, cracked background, perfectly encapsulates the dark, alluring, and slightly dangerous vibe of the story. Whether you're turning pages on an e-reader or flipping through a physical book, the journey of Jonas and Skadi is one you won't soon forget. If you're searching for a fantasy romance that delivers on both passionate encounters and a gripping storyline, 'The Mist Thief' is absolutely worth picking up. It's truly a book you'll want to reread!
