💭To say this book was an emotional rollercoaster would be putting it mildly 😅. The way my heart was put through the blender on this one, Oh man! So good though. We do love books that hurt though right? Gluttons for punishment 😂. The amount of times I found myself blinking away tears, then saying omg WTH probably is too high to count. I fell in love with Tamsyn, and Fell in book 1. Their connection just swept me up, and I was consumed. To say I went into this book completely bouncing on my toes giddy for more would be an understatement. I was not prepared for what the author wove into this story. Now this is not a bad thing. I do not want a predictable book, and this book was absolutely not what I expected. It was even better. All the things I expected, were just *poof* blown to dust. So to say this book met my expectations is funny, because it blew any expectations I had away. It created a whole new set, and exceeded them. This book has heartbreak, dragons, politics, betrayal, angst, longing, battles, friendship, magic, lore, and so much more. This book does need its TWs heeded. It is an adult romantasy, and has darker themes. As well as some spice. While the spice is limited, it still is there. It is also open door. Honestly I LOVED this book so much!

💬This Fantasy Romance is book 2 in The Fire In The Sky series. The romance in this book is a pre established relationship from a previous book. The book does have some spice, and the spice is open door. Which does mean the spicy scenes are detailed. Tamsyn is in the Crags, and its been a year since she has transformed. Fell has been torn from her side, and the X in her palm from their wedding still burns reminding her of him. Vetr pushes her to train, and become stronger to grow, and protect dragon kind. This was an emotionally charged, and suspense packed read.

... Read moreHaving just turned the last page of 'A Scar in the Bone' by Sophie Jordan, I'm still reeling from the sheer emotional depth woven into every chapter. My initial expectations for a typical fantasy romance were not just met; they were completely obliterated in the best possible way. This isn't just a story; it's an experience that grabs your heart and doesn't let go until the very end. What truly struck me about this 'A Scar in the Bone' was how Sophie Jordan managed to elevate the classic fantasy romance tropes. We delve deeper into the intricate world of dragons, not just as majestic creatures, but as beings deeply intertwined with the fate of their people and the magic that binds them. The imagery, much like the stunning cover art I saw on my e-reader – featuring that powerful dragon silhouette – comes alive in your mind as you read. The lore feels ancient and authentic, giving a rich backdrop to Tamsyn and Fell's tumultuous journey. The romance, oh, the romance! In 'A Scar in the Bone,' Tamsyn and Fell's bond, already forged in fire, is tested to its absolute limits. The author isn't afraid to explore the raw, painful truths of love, betrayal, and resilience. I found myself constantly rooting for them, even as my heart ached with every secret and lie unveiled. It’s the kind of emotional investment that makes a book unforgettable. If you're looking for a love story that will put you through the wringer but leave you feeling utterly satisfied, this is it. Their connection is palpable, making every struggle feel incredibly real. And for those wondering about the 'A Scar in the Bone spice level,' let me tell you, it's definitely present and open-door. The intimate scenes are not merely decorative; they serve to deepen the emotional connection between the characters and highlight their vulnerability and longing amidst the chaos. It’s handled with a maturity that complements the darker themes and intense plot, adding another layer to their already profound relationship without overshadowing the main narrative of dragons, magic, and political intrigue. The plot itself is a masterclass in unpredictability. Just when I thought I had a handle on where the story was going, Sophie Jordan would pull the rug out from under me. There are battles that will leave you breathless, betrayals that sting, and moments of magic that genuinely enchant. It expands beautifully on the 'Fire In The Sky' series, making 'A Scar in the Bone' a crucial read for understanding the full scope of this epic tale. It’s more than just a book review; it’s an invitation to lose yourself in a world where emotions run high, stakes are even higher, and the love shared between two people can truly move mountains – or, in this case, protect dragonkind. If you appreciate a story that isn't afraid to hurt a little, but ultimately rewards you with immense satisfaction, then do yourself a favor and pick up 'A Scar in the Bone'.
