Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone around the world.
This year looks different for me.
Instead of being out and moving the way I normally would, I’m healing. I’m sitting down more than I want to. I’m learning what it feels like to slow down when I didn’t choose to.
And if I’m honest… that part has been humbling.
When you’re used to conquering things — handling business, pushing through obstacles, staying strong — being forced to sit still can feel like a block.
It can feel like something tried to interrupt your momentum.
But what if it’s not destruction?
What if it’s protection?
What if the pause is preparing you for something greater?
I don’t believe every hardship is punishment. But I do believe God can use stillness to reveal things we were too busy to see.
This season is teaching me:
• Rest is not weakness
• Slowing down is not failure
• Being sat down does not mean being stopped
So whether you’re celebrating love today, healing from something unexpected, or quietly reflecting — let love meet you exactly where you are.
There is purpose in the pause.

How does this Valentine’s Day feel for you?

... Read moreValentine’s Day often symbolizes motion—dates, celebrations, and active expressions of love. However, experiencing it through healing and stillness offers a profound alternative perspective. From personal experience, when life forces us to pause unexpectedly, it feels like a block disrupting our momentum. Yet, embracing this pause can be a gift rather than a setback.
I have learned that stillness is a powerful teacher. It invites us to slow down and listen—to our bodies, hearts, and intuition. During such moments, the world’s noise quiets, allowing clarity and deeper self-awareness to emerge. For me, this process wasn’t about defeat but protection; the body and soul needed space to heal so that I could come back stronger.
The biblical exhortation "Do everything in love" (1 Corinthians 16:14) resonates deeply here. Resting and slowing down is an act of love toward oneself, not weakness. It’s a way of honoring our limits while trusting that greater growth awaits beyond the pause.
This season taught me some important truths: resting doesn’t equate to giving up, slowing down doesn’t mean failure, and being forced to stop doesn’t signal the end of progress. Instead, these moments of stillness can be fertile ground for preparing new dreams, gaining perspective, and reconnecting with what truly matters.
If you are healing, reflecting, or simply feeling blocked this Valentine’s Day, consider letting love meet you where you are. Honor your journey and recognize that purpose can lie hidden in the pause. Sharing these insights in real-time, such as through podcasts or journaling, also helped me feel connected and supported.
Remember, protecting yourself through rest and intentional slowing-down is a powerful way to nurture your well-being and prepare for your next chapter. It is an invitation to embrace love in all its forms—even the quietest ones.
