Hysterectomy post-op 🫶

Two weeks down! Things are going really well, though I stopped wearing the binder pretty quickly—it just felt like too much pressure on my organs. Honestly, recovery has been a “breeze” compared to the daily endo pain. Fingers crossed that this is the fix I’ve been waiting for! I’d like a surgery break now tho, please 💓

... Read moreHaving been through a hysterectomy myself, I can totally relate to the mixed feelings that come with recovery. At around the two-week mark, many people notice significant improvement, but also some challenges—as you mentioned, the binder can feel too tight or uncomfortable. In my experience, listening closely to your body and adjusting binder usage accordingly can really help reduce unnecessary pressure on your abdomen and organs. One thing I learned was the importance of light walking each day to promote circulation and prevent blood clots, but also to avoid any strenuous activity that could slow healing. Managing pain was easier compared to previous chronic issues like endometriosis, which often made me feel like recovery was more manageable. It's also important to stay hydrated and focus on balanced nutrition to support tissue repair. Emotional wellbeing matters too—taking time to rest and allow your body to heal without rushing back into daily routines made a huge difference. Patience is key; while it's tempting to push through, giving yourself a 'surgery break' as you mentioned is actually a great approach to ensuring long-term health. Post-hysterectomy recovery varies greatly, especially when underlying conditions like endometriosis or Marfan syndrome are involved, so checking in regularly with your healthcare provider is essential. Connecting with online communities using hashtags like #posthysterectomy and #hysterectomyjourney can also provide support and shared wisdom from others who understand the journey. Overall, stay gentle with yourself during this period, and celebrate each small improvement on the path to healing.

Post-Op Hysterectomy Recovery
Yes — even at 12 weeks post-op hysterectomy, your body is still in a deep integration and repair phase, even if you’re “cleared” medically. Support should now focus on continuous healing — not pushing or rushing. #loveangleag #hysterectomy #posthysterectomy #healing
