It’s important to remind ourselves that love, like shoes, must fit perfectly — if it doesn’t, it’s not meant for us. Holding on to people who never truly cared or weren’t right for us only leads to unnecessary pain. One powerful lesson is to recognize when a relationship is causing more harm than good. I’ve learned to ask myself if I’m staying because of genuine love or fear of being alone. Most times, the latter is the trap. When we stop begging for love, we open the door to healthier relationships and most importantly, self-love. To make this shift, I started focusing on personal growth and self-care routines. Simple acts like journaling my feelings, setting boundaries, and spending time with supportive friends help me regain confidence. It’s also helpful to remind myself daily that I deserve respect and affection without having to chase it. Remember, suffering in silence isn’t a sign of strength — it’s a signal that something needs to change. By embracing this mindset, you can break free from unhealthy attachments and create space for authentic connections that enrich your life, not deplete it.
