Get off the fence. You can't serve 2 masters
Being a #LukewarmChristian is very dangerous. C'mon over. You'll LOVE it here. #GiveGodAllTheGlory Follow #Jesus
It’s easy to feel like you’re doing enough, isn't it? For a long time, I walked that line, what many might call being a 'lukewarm Christian.' I went to church, I believed in God, but my heart wasn't fully in it. I thought I was fine, just blending in with everyone else, staying comfortable. But as the image from my post says so clearly, 'BEING A LUKEWARM CHRISTIAN IS SO DANGEROUS, BECAUSE YOU BLEND IN WITH EVERYBODY AND IMPACT NOBODY.' That truth hit me hard. It wasn't just about my own spiritual well-being; it was about the potential impact I was missing out on, and the disservice I was doing to my faith. I realized that if I truly wanted to move past just 'existing' in my faith, I needed to understand the 'characteristics of God' more deeply. It wasn't enough to just know about Him; I needed to know *Him*. Learning about His unwavering love, His perfect justice, His infinite wisdom, and His boundless mercy transformed my perspective. When you truly grasp the magnitude of who God is, it becomes impossible to remain on the fence. You see that His call for commitment isn't restrictive, but liberating. It’s an invitation to a life of purpose and peace that lukewarmness simply can’t offer. In today's world, it feels like there are 'many spiritual teachers' vying for our attention, each offering a different path or perspective. It's so easy to get caught up in the noise, trying to reconcile conflicting ideas, or simply dabbling in a little bit of everything. But my journey taught me that true spiritual growth comes from singular devotion. You really can’t serve two masters, as the original article title implies. Trying to do so just leaves you fragmented and, yes, lukewarm. It’s about choosing to follow Jesus wholeheartedly, letting His teachings guide every step, rather than being swayed by every new philosophy that comes along. This focus allows you to truly grow and make a difference. This commitment has even spilled over into unexpected areas of my life, like how I approach 'home improvement.' Now, I don't mean tearing down walls or adding an extension, but rather the spiritual 'home improvement' of my own heart and life. Just as we strive to create a welcoming, functional, and beautiful physical home, I started to look at my spiritual life in the same way. It meant clearing out the clutter of doubt and distraction, reinforcing the foundations of my faith, and decorating my life with actions that reflect God's love. My daily practices, my relationships, and even my mundane tasks started to feel more purposeful. It’s about making my inner dwelling a place where God feels welcome and where His presence can truly reside. This holistic approach ensures that my faith isn't just a Sunday activity, but a living, breathing part of who I am, making sure I don’t blend in, but stand out with purpose and impact.
