Hey coffee lovers! I wanted to chat a bit more about my journey with hazelnut lattes, especially since my Iced Hazelnut Brown Sugar Latte recipe has been such a hit! Honestly, for the longest time, I wasn't the biggest fan of hazelnut in my coffee. I always thought it tasted a bit artificial or too sweet. But then, I tried a really well-made one, and my whole perspective changed! It was that perfect blend of nutty warmth with a hint of sweetness, and it just clicked. That's what inspired me to create my own version, focusing on a balanced hazelnut brown sugar flavor. What I've come to love about a good hazelnut latte is its versatility. While my recipe focuses on an *iced latte*, this flavor profile is equally incredible served hot. Imagine cozying up with a warm hazelnut brown sugar latte on a chilly morning – pure bliss! The key, whether hot or iced, is the quality of your *hazelnut syrup*. If you can make your own, like I mentioned in my previous post, it truly elevates the drink. Store-bought syrups are fine, but a homemade one lets you control the intensity and sweetness, giving you that authentic roasted hazelnut taste. When making your own, don't be afraid to experiment with your *milk of choice*. I usually go for whole milk for that rich, creamy texture, but oat milk or almond milk also work wonderfully and can add their own subtle nuances. For the coffee base, two shots of quality espresso are perfect for a standard latte, giving it that necessary coffee kick without overpowering the hazelnut. If you don't have an espresso machine, a strong brew from a Moka pot or even concentrated cold brew can work in a pinch for an iced version. Beyond the basic recipe, think about how you can customize it even further. A sprinkle of cinnamon or a drizzle of chocolate sauce can add another layer of flavor. Some days, I like to top my iced latte with a dollop of whipped cream and a few crushed hazelnuts for an extra treat. It's all about making it your own! Another thing I've found is that the sweetness level is very personal. My recipe uses *brown sugar*, which adds a lovely caramel note, but you can always adjust the amount of syrup to your preference. Start with a little, taste, and add more if needed. That's the beauty of making it at home – you're the barista! So, if you're like I was and haven't fully embraced the hazelnut coffee trend, I really encourage you to give it another try. It might just surprise you and become your next favorite go-to coffee drink, whether it's my specific Iced Hazelnut Brown Sugar Latte or your own customized version. Enjoy experimenting!
