Mixed Berry Iced Mocha
Mixed Berry Iced Mocha
With valentines day coming up I couldn’t think of a better recipe to make. Who doesn’t love chocolate and berries for Valentine’s Day 💗 So why not make it into a latte ☕️
Check out my recipe for mixed berry syrup in my previous post. But feel free to use your own if you already have it. You will also need a good mocha sauce or just use a piece of chcocolate to mix into the espresso if that’s all you have.
Ingredients
1 tbsp mixed berry syrup
6-8 oz of milk, I used whole milk
2 shots of espresso
1 tbsp chocolate syrup
Ice
Directions
1. Combine 1 tbsp of mixed berry syrup with 6-8 oz of milk of choice.
2. Mix milk and syrup well. Handheld frothers work great for this.
3. Pour ice into a cup and pour your milk on top.
4. Mix 1 tbsp of mocha sauce with 2 shots of freshly brewed espresso.
5. Pour espresso mixture into your glass with the milk and ice.
Enjoy ♥️

Hey coffee lovers! I wanted to share a bit more about my love for homemade berry mochas, especially since my Mixed Berry Iced Mocha recipe has been such a hit. While the mixed berry version is divine, I've been experimenting, and let me tell you, the possibilities are endless and so delicious! Customizing Your Berry Mocha Experience One of the best things about making your own iced mocha is how easily you can customize it. If you're wondering about options beyond mixed berries, I've got you covered. For those searching for a 'raspberry mocha' or 'strawberry mocha', it's truly as simple as swapping out your berry syrup! I find that a homemade raspberry syrup gives a wonderfully tart and bright kick, while strawberry syrup offers a sweeter, more classic fruit flavor. You can use the same amount – just a tbsp mixed berry syrup (or raspberry/strawberry syrup!) is usually enough to infuse that lovely fruity note without overpowering the coffee. I’ve even tried a 'blueberry mocha coffee' by making a small batch of blueberry syrup, and it was unexpectedly delightful, adding a deeper, earthier sweetness. Getting That Perfect Iced Mocha Base I always start with good quality chocolate. Whether it's a 1 tbsp mocha sauce or just melting some good chocolate into your hot espresso, that rich chocolate base is non-negotiable for a true mocha. For the coffee, I swear by freshly Brew 2 shots of espresso on top for that strong coffee flavor that can stand up to the berries and chocolate. If you don't have an espresso machine, a strong cold brew concentrate or even instant espresso can work in a pinch – just adjust the strength to your liking. When it comes to milk, the original recipe calls for 6-8 oz of milk, and while whole milk gives a wonderfully creamy texture, I've also had fantastic results with almond milk for a lighter option or oat milk for extra creaminess without dairy. Just Mix togethen your berry syrup and milk really well. I find a handheld frother does an amazing job of incorporating the syrup evenly, making sure every sip is bursting with flavor. Then, of course, Pour milk over ice – lots of ice – to get that perfectly chilled iced mocha experience. My Top Tips for the Ultimate Berry Iced Mocha Layering is Key: To get that beautiful layered look, especially seen in professional coffee shops, try pouring your milk and syrup mixture over the ice first. Then, slowly Pour espresso into milk (after mixing your espresso with the mocha sauce) right over the back of a spoon. This technique helps the darker espresso sit on top temporarily before you Stir then pour espresso into milk for enjoyment. It's a small detail, but it really elevates the visual appeal! Sweetness Control: Berries can vary in sweetness. If your syrup isn't quite sweet enough, or you prefer a sweeter drink, a tiny bit of vanilla syrup or a touch more sugar in your berry syrup goes a long way. Taste as you go! Garnish Fun: Don't forget the garnish! A few fresh berries, a dollop of whipped cream, or a drizzle of extra chocolate sauce can turn your homemade iced mocha into a café-worthy treat. I love adding a few fresh raspberries or a sliced strawberry for that extra pop of color and flavor. Making a berry iced mocha at home is such a rewarding experience. It's a fantastic way to treat yourself or share a special moment with someone you care about, any time of year! Whether you're making a 'raspberry mocha latte' or a 'strawberry mocha', these simple adjustments and tips will help you create a drink that's truly your own.
