Viral Chocolate Crackle Latte
Chocolate Crackle Latte
I totally thought this trend was silly and that the chocolate wouldn’t actually flavor the drink but I was wrong. It’s actually delicious and very fun to make so I say give it try ✨
Make sure you freeze the chocolate cup long enough that the chocolate hardens. Otherwise the crackle will not work well. You can make this cup and put any drink in it but I totally recommend the my brown sugar shaken latte. It was so yummy with the chocolate crackle cup!
Chocolate Crackle Cup Recipe👇🏻
1/4 cup chocolate chips, i used semi sweet
1/2-1 tsp coconut oil
1. Melt in microwave safe bowl for 20 seconds then stir
2. Microwave an additional 20 seconds and stir until smooth.
3. Line the chocolate on the inside of a plastic cup
4. Freeze the whole cup about 5 mins or so. Longer is fine too.
Brown Sugar Shaken Latte👇🏻
1/2 tbsp brown sugar cinnamon swirl sauce
1 tsp vanilla syrup, increase to 1/2 tbsp for sweeter
2 shots of espresso
6 oz of milk, i used 2% milk
Lots of ice
1. Shake up all ingredients in a cocktail shaker or mason jar. The longer you shake the frothier it will be.
2. Grab the chocolate lined cup from the freezer and pour all contents of the shaker into the cup. Do not strain it, just pour all the drink and ice in.
3. Place lid and straw on cup and crackle the chocolate!
ENJOY!

Okay, so you've seen the viral Chocolate Crackle Latte everywhere, right? It's been popping up on my feed constantly, especially with all the buzz around the 'Dubai chocolate crackle latte' trend! I was totally intrigued by the idea of a 'cracking drink' – that satisfying sound and creamy chocolate merging with my coffee? Yes, please! After perfecting the basic recipe, I've gathered some extra tips and tricks to make your homemade version truly next-level and ensure you get that perfect ‘chocolate crack’ every single time. First off, let's talk about the star of the show: the chocolate crackle cup itself. The original recipe uses 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/2-1 tsp coconut oil, which is fantastic for creating a thin, snappy shell. But for those looking for a slightly richer or even more stable crackle, consider the type of chocolate. High-quality dark chocolate chips can give a deeper flavor, while milk chocolate adds a sweeter, creamier note. The key is the consistency when you're lining your plastic cup with melted chocolate. You want it thin enough to crack easily but thick enough to hold. Don't be shy with the freezing time – '5 mins or so' is a good starting point, but if your freezer isn't super cold, or if you apply a slightly thicker layer, giving it an extra 5-10 minutes ensures it’s rock solid. This prevents a messy melt and guarantees that satisfying 'cracking chocolate drink' experience. I've found that sometimes, if I rush it, the chocolate just breaks into chunks instead of a clean crack, so patience is truly a virtue here! Now, while the brown sugar shaken latte is an absolute dream with this (seriously, the brown sugar cinnamon swirl sauce and vanilla syrup combo is divine!), the beauty of the chocolate crackle cup is its versatility. You don't have to stick to just one type of coffee. Ever wondered 'what is a chocolate latte' truly capable of? This takes it to a whole new level! For a classic twist, try a simple iced latte – just two shots of espresso, 6 oz milk, and lots of ice. The chocolate shell will melt into a delicious mocha as you drink. Or, if you're feeling adventurous, whip up a caramel macchiato or even a strong cold brew. The chocolate base provides a wonderful foundation for almost any 'coffee at home' creation. Imagine a mint chocolate crackle latte during the holidays, or a hazelnut variation – the possibilities are endless! This really elevates your 'barista chocolate' game right in your own kitchen. To truly achieve that 'barista' quality, pay attention to your espresso. If you have an espresso machine, freshly ground beans make a huge difference. If not, a strong, concentrated cold brew or even finely ground coffee steeped for a longer time can work wonders as a substitute for your 'Prep 2 shots of espresso'. And don't underestimate the power of a good shake! Using a cocktail shaker or mason jar with lots of ice isn't just for cooling; it aerates the milk and coffee, creating a wonderfully frothy texture that makes every sip feel special. When you 'brew espresso over syrups' as the OCR suggests, make sure to stir well to fully dissolve them before adding the milk and ice. Then cover and shake well before you 'pour the drink into chocolate lined cup'. Finally, a quick troubleshooting tip: if your chocolate isn't cracking, it might be too warm or too thin in spots. If it's too thick, it might be hard to break. Experiment with the amount of coconut oil – a little more can make it slightly softer and easier to crack, while a little less makes it more brittle. This 'chocolate crackle' trend is all about having fun and experimenting with flavors. So grab your ingredients – your chocolate chips, coconut oil, brown sugar, espresso, milk, and ice – and get ready to impress yourself and anyone you share it with! It's such a fun and interactive way to enjoy your coffee.
how do you make the coffee foamy like that? i thought it was because of the milk, but when i tried, it was still super liquidy. does it have to do with how you shake it as well?
