Wahizza ?? 📍Clifton, NJ

I was in the area and decided to go for a slice at a pizzeria I used to go to but hadn't gone to in years. When I got there, I realized they were no longer there, but in it's place was Wahizza. I had never been to nor heard of it, to be honest, so I decided to go in and check it out.

Apparently, they are "home of the chimi pizza," which I didn't try today. I tried their regular garlic knots (they have some with cheese) & their chicken marsala. The garlic knots were fresh, and their marinara sauce wasn't that thick consistency, which I like. Their chicken marsala was pretty good as well. You can definitely get one order of it and share it with someone else because they do give you a good amount; they put 3 pieces of chicken. I might go back another time to try their chimi pizza or something else on the menu because they didn't disappoint with today's order. 😋👌🏼

... Read moreI recently had such a delightful surprise at Wahizza in Clifton, NJ! What started as a trip down memory lane to an old pizzeria turned into discovering this vibrant new spot. Walking in, I was immediately struck by the modern yet cozy atmosphere. The interior of Wahizza boasts comfortable wooden tables and sleek black chairs, creating a welcoming vibe perfect for a casual meal or a relaxed hangout. And let me tell you, the vibrant wall mural depicting a lively city scene, proudly proclaiming "Home of the Chimi Pizza," really adds a unique touch and a pop of color to the dining area – it’s a feast for the eyes even before the food arrives! While I didn't get to try their famous Chimi Pizza on this visit, the buzz around it is palpable, and that mural definitely builds the hype! I'm genuinely curious about what makes their Chimi Pizza so special and why it's their signature offering. It makes you wonder if it’s a unique blend of flavors, a special crust, or perhaps inspired by Latin American cuisine given the name "Chimi." I've already penciled in another visit just to experience this legendary pizza firsthand. It's clear from their prominent sign that reads "WAHIZZA HOME OF THE CHIMI PIZZA" on the exterior that this dish is a must-try for any pizza enthusiast. On my first visit, I opted for their regular garlic knots and the chicken marsala, and both were absolute winners. The garlic knots were incredibly fresh, golden-brown perfection, served with a marinara sauce that wasn't overly thick – just how I like it. You could tell they were made with care. And the chicken marsala? Wow! It was rich, flavorful, and they certainly don't skimp on portions. With three generous pieces of chicken and a delicious sauce often served with linguine pasta and mushrooms, it’s definitely a dish you could easily share, offering great value for money. The overall quality truly exceeded my expectations for a first-time visit. The convenience factor is also a plus; I noticed a neat self-service station with plates, cups, napkins, and utensils, making the dining experience smooth and hassle-free. It shows they think about the little details that enhance a customer's visit. If you're ever in Clifton, whether you're looking for classic Italian-American comfort food or are eager to unravel the mystery of the Chimi Pizza, Wahizza is definitely a place to check out. From the fresh garlic knots to the satisfying chicken marsala, they delivered a fantastic meal, and I can't wait to explore more of their menu. It’s certainly a spot that promises a delightful culinary adventure!
