327th battle pack alt build (2x)
Building with LEGO is already a blast, but have you ever tried an 'alt build'? It's where you take the pieces from a specific set and create something entirely new, outside of the official instructions. For me, the 327th Battle Pack presented an exciting challenge. I'd seen so many cool custom creations online, and I really wanted to try my hand at designing something unique, especially a more substantial vehicle for my clone troopers. My personal journey into this 327th Battle Pack alt build started with a simple idea: what if I combined not one, but two of these battle packs? The beauty of using two sets, as I quickly discovered, is the sheer increase in available pieces. This allowed me to add much more detail and stability than a single set ever could. My goal was to craft a more imposing 327 AT-RT, something that truly stood out in my collection. Building a custom 327 AT-RT from these sets felt like a natural fit because the existing parts, especially the grey and dark red elements, perfectly complement the 327th Star Corps aesthetic. The process wasn't without its moments of trial and error, which, to be honest, is part of the fun! I spent hours sifting through all the pieces from both sets, mentally (and sometimes physically) sketching out different possibilities. It was amazing to see how many different configurations were possible with the same selection of bricks. I found myself focusing on structural integrity first, ensuring the legs of the AT-RT could actually support its weight, then moving onto the aesthetic details like the cockpit and weaponry. The 'STAR' elements mentioned in some of my reference images really pushed me to make it feel authentic to the Star Wars universe. If you're thinking about tackling your own 327th Battle Pack alt build, here are a few tips from my experience: First, don't be afraid to experiment. Build something, then take it apart if it's not working. Second, look for inspiration online, but always put your own twist on it. And third, really think about the function of your build – if it's a vehicle, how would it move? If it's a structure, what's its purpose? My finished 327 AT-RT x2 build is something I'm incredibly proud of, and I'm even considering creating 'Instructions coming soon...' for it if there's enough interest. It shows just how much creative potential lies within those humble LEGO bricks. It truly transformed my perception of what you can achieve with battle packs!
