I'M WRITING A BOOK IN 10 DAYS!

... Read moreHey everyone! You saw my post about writing a book in just 10 days, and I know it sounds absolutely wild, but I actually did it! My sci-fi fantasy novel, 'Talentbound,' is now out there. I wanted to share a bit more about how I pulled this off and what inspired this high-stakes story, especially for anyone dreaming of writing their own book. First off, attempting to write a book in such a short timeframe isn't for the faint of heart, but it taught me so much about focus and dedication. My biggest secret? Intense outlining. Before I even typed the first word, I had a solid plan for 'Talentbound.' I knew my main characters, Elyot and the unique robot he created, and the core conflict: a society where people's 'Talents' grant 'SUPERPOWERED ABILITIES,' leading to corruption. Having that roadmap, even if it was just a detailed chapter-by-chapter script, allowed me to dive straight into writing without getting stuck. Another key was setting daily word count goals. For a 10-day sprint, these goals were ambitious, but seeing the progress every day kept me motivated. I treated it like a full-time job, dedicating hours each day to just writing, cutting out distractions. It was challenging, especially balancing the intricate plot of 'Talentbound' – from Elyot being wrongly convicted to his psychic link with the robot and their fight against those trying to suppress the truth. There's a lot of violence and conspiracy, as you can imagine when you're dealing with gangs and high stakes! So, what's 'Talentbound' really about? Imagine a world where humans have evolved to have 'Talents,' which manifest as powerful abilities. My protagonist, Elyot, is an inventor who gets falsely accused. While imprisoned, he forms a psychic bond with a robot he created, a robot that can actually 'read Talents.' This robot becomes crucial in helping Elyot climb his way out of corruption and expose the bad people assuming power. It's truly a fiction & fantasy ride with lots of twists and turns, exploring themes of justice and power. If you're thinking about writing your own book, whether in 10 days or 10 months, my advice is to just start. Don't wait for perfection. Get your ideas down, even if they're messy. For me, sketching out the world of 'Talentbound' and its unique system of 'Talents' was the fun part. Then came the hard work of weaving it into a compelling narrative. If a story about superpowered abilities, a wrongfully accused inventor, and a sentient robot fighting corruption sounds exciting, you'll love it. So, if you're looking for a writing guide or just need some inspiration, remember that even a quick sprint can yield amazing results. Find your story, outline your plot, and commit to your daily goals. And hey, you can read my book 'Talentbound' for free at the link in my bio – see what a 10-day writing challenge can produce!
