... Read moreIt's true, being a self-employed artist means every day is different, but I've found having some structure really helps me stay on track, especially with my 2025 resolutions in mind! My personal diaries as a self-employed artist often start before the sun is fully up. I usually dedicate my mornings to the most demanding creative tasks. This is when my mind is freshest, and I can really dive deep into a new piece or tackle a complex commission. Whether it’s sketching out new ideas, mixing paints for a large canvas, or sculpting, these quiet hours are my most productive. After a creative sprint, I usually take a break, maybe grab a coffee, and then switch gears to the 'business' side of being an artist. This often includes answering emails from clients, potential collaborators, or galleries. I also spend time on my online presence – updating my website, scheduling social media posts, and engaging with my community. It’s not always glamorous, but connecting with people who appreciate my art is incredibly rewarding! Sometimes, I also pack and ship orders, carefully preparing each piece to ensure it arrives safely. The afternoon might involve working on smaller projects, experimenting with new techniques, or even attending online workshops to learn new skills. This continuous learning is crucial for growth and keeping my art fresh. I also try to allocate time for administrative tasks like invoicing, tracking expenses, and planning for upcoming shows or markets. It's a lot to juggle, but seeing my art come to life and reach others makes it all worthwhile. One of the biggest challenges, as I mentioned in my random thoughts, is not quitting halfway through! There are days when inspiration feels miles away, or sales are slow. That’s when my motivation needs a real boost. I cope by reminding myself of my 'why' – why I started creating in the first place. I also find connecting with other artists, even online, incredibly helpful for sharing experiences and getting encouragement. Setting achievable mini-goals each day, even if it's just finishing a small sketch or sending out one email, helps build momentum. If you're thinking about becoming a self-employed artist, my biggest tip is to embrace both the creative and business hats. Don't be afraid to learn about marketing, finance, and time management – these skills are just as important as your artistic talent. And remember, every artist's journey is unique. Some days will be smoother than others, but persistence and passion are your best tools. I'm so motivated for 2025 and all the artistic adventures ahead, and I hope sharing a glimpse into my life helps you on yours too!

Day 4/20 | 20 days to 200k 🤎 when you start out with the plan to be a content creator- it can feel like you NEED a niche. Makeup/fashion/food- whatever it may be, but don’t let it put you in a box. My manager will laugh bc I have gone outside of the normal “niche” and get brand deals from all over!
