Avoided break in

#storytime #lemon8challenge #lemon8diarychallenege #Lemon8Diary #lemon8storytime

When I was 9 I used to ride around on my bike with my neighbor, we would always go up and down the street off our neighborhood since it had a dip. Our other neighbor had a long drive way so when we were day we would park our bikes there.

One day though we went to the off street when there was a white van parked on the side of the street, I was curious so we biked over there to investigate. 🤦‍♀️ The van had three bags next to it, I was right next to the van and looked inside them, one had food, one had clothes, and one I couldn’t see in. My neighbor had already peddled away and I didn’t know why until I looked at the van to see a man staring back at me😳

I immediately biked back into my neighborhood and parked at my neighbors house and so did my friend, we watched from the drive way as the van slowly drove away.

The next day my other neighbor told me someone broke into her house and stabbed her brother in the leg and left. (He was ok he can walk)

Was this a coincidence maybe 🤷‍♀️, but if I peddled back to my house it scares me to think that I could have caused a break in at my own house.

Do you have any stories like this?

Anyway stay safe and bye :) ❤️

... Read moreChildhood memories often hold tales that seem ordinary, yet contain deeper truths. In this story, the author reflects on a seemingly innocent day of biking but stumbles into a memory tied to a neighborhood break-in. Such incidents raise critical awareness about safety in familiar settings. It's essential, especially for children, to be educated about stranger danger and the importance of trusting their instincts. Community safety can often be overlooked, and this narrative serves as a reminder that not all curiosity leads to benign outcomes. Parents and guardians should encourage children to share their experiences and concerns, fostering an environment where safety is prioritized. Moreover, it's crucial to be vigilant and aware of our surroundings at all times. Engaging in community watch programs and discussing local crime trends can empower neighborhoods. The story encapsulates the notion that vigilance is not just an adult responsibility; kids also need to learn about potential dangers while enjoying their freedom. Overall, each neighborhood has its unique set of stories that can help us prepare for unexpected situations.
