My top 2 favorite productivity apps.

I use Google Calendar and the Reminders app on my iPhone all the time. I put everything on my calendar, and I love being able to set multiple notifications to remind me of important events coming up. I also have a shared family calendar, where we all add anything important to help us stay on the same page.

The Reminders app is my go-to for organizing everything from daily tasks to shopping lists and project deadlines. I love that I can set priority levels and due dates, plus recurring reminders for things I need to remember regularly. The color coding feature is a lifesaver it helps me visually separate my reminders so I can see at a glance what’s for work, what’s for personal errands, and what’s for family stuff. It just makes everything feel more organized and easier to manage.

What’s your favorite apps? Please share.

... Read moreIt's so true that having the right tools can completely transform how organized and productive you feel! I totally resonate with the idea that Google Calendar and the iPhone Reminders app are some of the best organizing apps out there. They're staples for a reason, and I've found so many ways to make them work even harder for me. For Google Calendar, it’s not just about scheduling appointments. I've started using it for time blocking, which has been a game-changer for tackling my "Brain dump" items and larger "Projects." I literally schedule blocks of time for focused work on specific tasks, just like an important meeting. This helps me prioritize and ensure those "Important" tasks don't get pushed aside. And that shared family calendar? Absolutely essential! It's how we keep track of everyone's schedules, from school events to doctor's appointments, making sure we all "stay on the same page" for family stuff. I even use recurring events to remind myself of daily habits I want to build, like my morning walk or evening reading time for my "Books" and "Learning" goals. The iPhone Reminders app is truly my digital assistant for everything else. It's incredibly versatile, handling everything from my daily "To do" lists to more complex "Work List" items. Creating separate lists for different categories has been a lifesaver. For instance, I have a dedicated grocery list where I jot down items as soon as I realize I need them. This has saved me countless trips back to the store! I can easily add things like "Avocado," "Shrimps," "Carrots," and "Spaghetti" – it makes shopping so much smoother. I also maintain lists for "Books to Read," "Course" assignments, and even a "TRAVEL" checklist for when I’m planning a trip. The ability to set priority levels and due dates for tasks within Reminders is fantastic for managing my "Today" and "This week" goals. I use the "Flagged" feature for anything urgent that absolutely cannot be missed. And those location-based reminders? Genius! I set one for "Things I need" to buy, so it pops up the moment I arrive at the grocery store. No more forgetting the milk! I also love the "Milestones" feature within my project lists, breaking down bigger goals into manageable steps. While these two apps are incredible, sometimes I combine them with other simple digital tools to create my ultimate organizing system. For example, a quick "Brain dump" often starts in a simple notes app (like Apple Notes) for unstructured thoughts, then I transfer actionable items into Reminders with specific due dates. For more in-depth "Learning" or "Projects" that require extensive notes or collaboration, I might use a more robust note-taking app, but Reminders remains the hub for direct actions. My biggest tip for anyone looking for the best organizing app strategy is to experiment. Find what combination works for your life. Make use of all the features these apps offer – notifications, recurring reminders, color-coding, shared lists. They are designed to adapt to your needs, whether you're managing a busy household, multiple "Projects," or just trying to remember to pick up "Juice" and "Yogurt" from the store. It’s all about creating a system that reduces stress and keeps you on track. What's your go-to trick for staying organized?
