When your husband actually gets it 🥹

Can we take a second to appreciate supportive spouses? 🥹💜

Because perimenopause and menopause don’t just affect us…

They affect relationships too.

The mood shifts.

The exhaustion.

The random symptoms nobody warned us about.

The moments when we don’t even recognize ourselves.

So when your partner actually listens, learns, supports, and doesn’t make you feel crazy?

THAT matters.

Proud of my hubby for showing up in this season with understanding 💜

Do you have support through this season… or are you educating everybody yourself? 👀

... Read moreLiving through perimenopause and menopause is a profoundly transformative experience, not just physically but emotionally and relationally as well. I’ve found that having a partner who actively listens and seeks to understand can make this journey much more manageable. From my personal experience, the unpredictable mood changes and exhaustion can feel isolating, especially when symptoms strike without warning. It’s comforting when your spouse doesn’t dismiss these feelings but instead acknowledges them, showing patience and empathy. This kind of support helps reduce feelings of confusion and self-doubt, making you feel like you’re not alone in this season of life. One key aspect I’ve discovered is the importance of open communication. Educating your partner about the symptoms you experience—whether it’s hot flashes, night sweats, or brain fog—helps them grasp the realities better. When they learn from credible sources and personal sharing, their responses shift from confusion to compassion. I also appreciate when my husband recognizes that perimenopause and menopause don’t just affect me; they influence our relationship. This awareness motivates him to be more patient during mood shifts and more proactive in helping with daily tasks when my energy wanes. It's worth noting that ‘results vary’ as every woman’s menopausal journey is unique, and what works for one may not for another. Consulting healthcare professionals and possibly supplementing with trusted products can also support wellbeing. But beyond medical treatment, emotional and relational support remains crucial. In summary, if you’re navigating this season, seek or foster a support system that includes understanding partners. Their empathy can transform challenges into shared experiences, strengthening your bond. For those still educating their loved ones, patience and persistent conversation are key. Remember, a spouse who ‘actually gets it’ is a true blessing in the menopause journey.
