From my personal experience navigating the PCOS weight loss journey, I’ve learned that occasional indulgence does not derail progress. In fact, allowing yourself to enjoy traditional snacks during Chinese New Year or other celebrations can help prevent feelings of deprivation, which often lead to binge eating. It’s important to plan ahead: enjoy your favorite treats consciously and in moderation, rather than abstaining completely. After 3-4 days of celebration, returning to your healthy routine—including nutrient-rich meals and regular exercise—will support continued weight loss without drastic fluctuations. Additionally, pairing indulgence with mindful choices, such as incorporating more fiber and protein in other meals, helps to stabilize blood sugar and hormones, which is critical for managing PCOS symptoms. Remember, PCOS weight loss is a marathon, not a sprint. Building sustainable habits and giving yourself grace to enjoy festive moments are both essential. This approach not only supports physical health but also nurtures emotional well-being, motivating you to keep moving forward on your journey.
