Attending MegaCon 2026 was truly an exhilarating experience that exceeded all my expectations. Just like many fans, I entered the convention center with a mindset of not intending to buy anything. However, once immersed in the vibrant atmosphere - surrounded by fellow fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion and Jujutsu Kaisen - my resolve softened completely. One of the highlights for me was finding a Jujutsu Kaisen 0 blind bag, where I was lucky enough to get Gojo Satoru, a fan-favorite character. Additionally, I picked up several gashapon keychains, including adorable matching sets that were perfect collectibles. The variety of items was impressive, ranging from fridge magnets and cute purses—like the Sakura mochi purse lined with red bean filling fabric—to wooden gallery pieces that made for unique souvenirs. What made this haul even more special were the thoughtful gifts from my best friend, showing how conventions are not just about buying but also sharing memorable moments. Despite a small hiccup with a slightly off-center photo clip I retook multiple times, the overall experience of exploring merchandise from popular fandoms like #Evangelion and #JJK was incredibly fulfilling. For any fellow convention-goers, I highly recommend going in with an open mind. Even if you don't plan to buy, the chance to discover exclusive items, support creators, and connect with community members can lead to unexpected treasures and stories worth cherishing. MegaCon 2026 perfectly captured that spirit for me, reminding me why these events remain so beloved by anime and pop culture fans alike.
