Yoyogi Park offers a lively atmosphere where locals and tourists gather for hanami picnics under expansive cherry trees. Walking alongside the Nakameguro River during sakura season is a highlight, with branches arching over the water, creating beautiful reflections and photo opportunities. Shinjuku Gyoen is perfect for those who prefer a more serene setting with wide lawns and beautifully maintained gardens showcasing a variety of cherry blossom types. Inokashira Park, located near Kichijoji, combines the charm of cherry blossoms with a scenic pond where you can rent boats, enhancing the romantic vibe of the season. Meanwhile, Kandagawa River presents an excellent riverside stroll with blooming sakura lining the banks, ideal for peaceful moments away from the city bustle. Exploring these spots not only lets you enjoy breathtaking views but also immerses you in the local traditions of celebrating sakura season. Planning visits during mid to late March or early April is key, as that’s usually when the blossoms peak. Don’t forget to try hanami bento boxes or sake to fully embrace the festive spirit during your Tokyo sakura adventure.
