Hi everyone!! I gave my phone a spring theme! Here is a little phone tour! I got all the app icons/widget pictures from Pinterest. I also used Widgetsmith to add the widgets. I also linked my Pinterest in my bio if you want the pics they are saved in my wallpapers board in the spring theme section! 🌷🌼🌸
... Read moreHey everyone! Since so many of you loved my quick peek at my spring homescreen, I wanted to dive a little deeper and share exactly how I created this fresh, aesthetic look for my iPhone. It's surprisingly easy to do and makes such a difference in brightening up your day every time you unlock your phone! If you're looking to bring some spring vibes to your device, here's my step-by-step guide.
First things first, inspiration is key! I spend a lot of time on Pinterest. For this spring theme, I searched for things like "aesthetic spring widgets," "floral iPhone wallpapers," "cute spring app icons," and "pastel phone themes." I saved tons of images with light pink, blue, and green floral patterns, beautiful nature scenes, and even some minimalist spring designs. Having a dedicated board for your phone aesthetic helps keep everything organized. I particularly loved finding images of red flowers, tulips, and daisies – they really scream spring!
Once I had my visual inspiration, it was time to gather the elements. For custom widgets, Widgetsmith is your best friend. It allows you to create personalized widgets in various sizes (small, medium, and large) and then link them to specific photos. For my lock screen, I wanted a beautiful pastel floral wallpaper that complemented my widgets. I found some gorgeous options that featured delicate flowers, similar to the ones you see on my phone with the time and date overlay.
Here’s a quick rundown of how I use Widgetsmith:
Choose a Widget Size: Decide if you want a small square, a medium rectangle, or a large square widget.
Select Style: Tap on the chosen widget size and select "Photo" or "Custom" under the style options.
Add Photo: Pick the spring-themed photo you saved from Pinterest. This is where those images of an open book with flowers, a cluster of daisies, or a charming picnic basket come in handy for filling your homescreen. I even made a blue widget that simply said "It's Spring" with a cute tulip icon!
Customize: You can adjust the font, color, and border if you're using a custom text widget.
Add to Homescreen: Long-press on your homescreen, tap the "+" in the top left corner, search for Widgetsmith, and add your newly created widget.
Beyond widgets, custom app icons really tie the whole aesthetic together. This takes a little more effort but is totally worth it! You can use the Shortcuts app on your iPhone to change individual app icons. Just create a new shortcut, select "Open App," choose the app you want to customize (like Messages, Camera, Weather, Mail, Photos, Notes, Canvas, FaceTime, Clock, Find My, App Store, Bank, Spotify, Disney+, or YouTube), then tap the "share" icon, select "Add to Home Screen," and choose your custom spring-themed image for the icon. I found some adorable pastel icons that matched my floral widgets perfectly.
Finally, arrange your homescreen! I love playing around with different layouts. I placed my favorite widgets and customized app icons strategically to create a visually pleasing flow. Don't forget your lock screen! A complementary spring lock screen wallpaper sets the tone before you even reach your homescreen.
Creating a themed iPhone homescreen is such a fun and creative way to personalize your device and inject a little joy into your daily routine. It's like having a mini piece of spring with you all the time. I hope this detailed guide helps you create your own beautiful spring aesthetic! Happy customizing!
