4 Numbers Missing From Most Budgets
Sometimes a budget fails even though the income and monthly bills are correct.
That usually means the plan is missing a number you need during the month:
1. Bill timing gap — how much is due before the next paycheck?
2. Irregular cost target — how much must be saved from each paycheck before the next annual or seasonal bill?
3. Weekly safe-to-spend — how much remains for this week after dividing the category balance by the weeks left?
4. Checking floor — what amount will you stop treating as casually spendable?
These numbers turn a monthly plan into decisions you can actually use on payday, at the store, and while looking at checking.
Slide 6 is a five-minute audit. Save it and fill in the four blanks.
